Amazing, life changing experience

08-May-2020

I will start this by saying that I don’t like camping, and have never hiked more than one day before. But this company, and the guides and porters who ran our tour made it easy and even enjoyable! Hiking the Inca Trail is a once in a lifetime experience, and I recommend using this company because they pay their employees well and even employ women as porters. I can’t recommend them enough! ...more ...less

Inka Trail with Alpaca Expedition

20-Feb-2020

I'm so lucky and grateful to have done this hik. It was not easy, on opposite, it was a really hard way to go, but it was worth every step and every sight. The guidance was amazing, friendly and full of care. The food was excellent and tasty. All together it was a fabulous trip. Thanks to the crew and the organisators! ...more ...less

4D/3N Inca Trail Hike

12-Feb-2020

My wife and I had a fantastic time on our hike through Alpaca Expeditions. Everything about the planning process was smooth even when we had to reschedule last minute because of flight delays. While on the hike, the porters and our guide, Javier, were very accommodating, educational, and hospitable, especially when my wife had gotten sick half way through the hike. I would highly recommend Alpaca Expeditions to anyone planning on hiking the Inca Trail or other areas they also cover in Peru. ...more ...less

Alpaca Expeditions Super Guide Robinzon

13-Mar-2020

We chose Alpaca Expeditions based on Trip Advisor reviews. They were very organized on the details and all the pre-trip logistics went smoothly. But the most important aspect of the trip is the Alpaca Expedition guide that is responsible for safely getting you through the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Robinzon was our guide for hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. He was everything you’d expect from a great guide on the usual things. He was knowledgeable, informative, funny, perfect English and a great conversationalist. But where Robinzon went from great guide to super human guide was in getting me safely to the end of the trail when I ran into serious problems. On Day 2, half way up Dead Woman’s Pass, I was feeling the effects of the altitude, driving rain and steep ascent so Robinson quickly altered the plan and called for an early lunch and had the porters set up my tent so I could sleep for an hour. He then carried my backpack for me the rest of the way. At the top of the pass, we started the descent and shortly after, I slipped on a rock and twisted my ankle. With my arm around his neck, Robinzon half carried me all the way down to camp which took four hours. The next day, we had to go up and down the second pass as the cold, driving rain continued. The altitude, exhaustion, rain and cold took their toll and I went into shivering convulsions and collapsed. Robinzon immediately went into action calling for four porters and carrying me to the nearest medic hut where he and the other porters got me into dry clothes, blankets and hot water bottles to restore my body temperature. Robinzon said he needed to get me down the mountain to lower altitude and warmer temperatures so six of our porters loaded me on a stretcher and carried me 3 hours to a campsite at the bottom of the mountain. The next day I had recovered enough to make it the rest of the way to Machu Picchu on my own. Robinzon and the team of porters likely saved my life and I have Alpaca Expeditions to thank for hiring the best guides and porters. Hiking the Inca Trail is not without risks and I would an absolutely only ever recommend using Alpaca Expeditions thanks to Robinzon! ...more ...less

LOOOOOVE it!!!

11-Mar-2020

My Family did the Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu with Alpaca Expedition in December of 2019. The entire experience from start to finish was awesome and I can’t speak highly enough of the whole crew at Alpaca Expedition - the guide, the food, the organization, the gears ... Everything is top notch. They made the 4 day tour (even in rain) an awesome experience! The company has over 1/3 of the share of Inca Trail tourists for a reason... ...more ...less
