Day 2 : Kruger National Park Game Drives And Safari

Location: Kruger National Park Boundary Road

Accommodation: bungalow

Accommodation Name: Satara Rest Camp (or similar, like Letaba or Olifants)

Meals Included: Breakfast

You will leave after breakfast to take a boat trip on the Blyde Dam. An interpretation tour will take you to the Kadishi Tufa waterfall and the Three Rondawels. An abundance of wildlife will keep you distracted while learning more about the natural history of the Blyde Canyon. The Kadishi Tufa waterfall, at 200 meters (around 660 feet) in height, is the second tallest Tufa Waterfall on earth. Completing this, you will head to the heart of the Kruger National Park through the Orpen gate, watching game as you head to the Satara Rest Camp. (Lunch en-route not included, restaurants available) The Satara Rest Camp is situated in an excellent game viewing area, with the bush relatively open and the animals plentiful and diverse. The camp itself has a rustic charm, with the bulk of the accommodation set out in a series of circles. Satara is well wooded and the bird-life is prolific. At night the clink of fruit bats is fused with the chirping of cicadas and crickets. The calls of owls and night-jars add to the symphony that is punctuated intermittently by the whoop of hyena, the screech of jackal and the roars of lion. Enjoy a Sunset Game Drive which transitions into the night where you can see the nocturnal activities of Kruger's secretive creatures, and lasts at least 3 hours. Dinner at the restaurant follows. Overnight in a bungalow or cottage at the Satara Rest Camp, or similar.
(You have the choice to do an optional activity like a sunset game drive, game drive to a bush braai, early morning game drive/walk or a night game drive.)

Family Trip of a Lifetime!

23-Aug-2019

Review of: 4 days Kruger Park Big 5 Safari and Awesome Panorama Route After reading many trip advisor reviews I reached out to Jakes regarding a family holiday in South Africa, I am so glad I did. From the get go Jakes made it easy for me to plan the trip. We had a group of 7 adults (all our kids are in their 20's) flying in from 3 different locations. After confirming our accomodation in Joburg, we left it in Jakes hands. The accommodation for all 3 nights was terrific, and we were blown away by the special dinner arranged for us in Kruger. You cannot explain the feeling of sitting in the middle of a national park, with a beautifully set table, and a private dinner provided under the stars. Jakes and Simon our guides were so knowledgable, and exceptionally patient with our group. Making sure all our accommodations were acceptable, and our meals well planned, it was thoughtful touches such as fresh fruit for the car ride, providing binoculars, helping us take photos at just the right angles (lighting) and ensuring that 1 vegetarian was catered for that made our trip so amazing. Nothing was too much trouble, including making arrangements for my sister who only booked 2 weeks before our tour started! We immediately booked a second tour with Jakes and Simon to do Soweto and Apartheid Museum, which is a testament to how much we valued and trusted them. ...more ...less

Viaggio speciale in sud Africa

06-Feb-2020

...more ...less

Fantastic!

15-Apr-2020

My guide was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife when we did the Kruger National Park and Panorama Route Safari. I was amazed at how quickly he noticed and pointed out animals that I wouldn't have seen otherwise. My advice is to remember to bring a good camera and a pair of binoculars on tour when you book with Amatungulu, because you'll see so much! I can't recommend them enough. ...more ...less
