Tour Overview
Campania is certainly one of the morphologically most varied regions of the peninsula and, for this reason, this land is able to offer music, sea, fun and nature, but also history and culture. Another pride of this region is the dairy produce, with the famous buffalo mozzarella, masterfully produced. In this glimpse of paradise, jagged and inaccessible coasts alternate with small and hidden beaches that give life to a unique landscape. The most inaccessible areas today are transformed by a series of terraces sloping down to the sea, used to grow citrus fruits, olive trees and vines. And how can we forget the natural endowments that dominate this region: Vesuvius, gloomy and mysterious, loved for its beauty and feared for its power. Those who choose to spend their holidays in Campania are spoilt for choice thanks to the many opportunities offered by this region, but the sites recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites(Pompeii, Herculaneum, Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi Coast, Naples) certainly deserve a visit.

Pompeii (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), along with Herculaneum and many villas in the surrounding area, was buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of
Volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79.
Largely preserved under the ash, the excavated city, offered a unique snapshot of Roman life, frozen at the moment it was buried, and an extraordinarily detailed insight into the everyday life of its inhabitants
It was a wealthy town, enjoying many fine public buildings and luxurious private houses with lavish decorations, but left all the history for our local guide.
After the visit of Pompeii we will move towards to our Hotel, located in the city of Salerno.

Mozzarella is the most important among the several cheeses that are made only in a few specific provinces Italy and are based on pure buffalo milk.
Buffaloes arrived in Southern Italy around the year 1000 A.D. brought by Norman kings who created buffalo farms in Campania bringing the animals from Sicily, where they had been introduced by the Arabs. The first historical traces of this cheese dates back to the 12th century when it was called
“mozza” or “provatura”.
They were widespread in the wet areas of the Sele Valley, the most important and famous one, with about the 80% of the production.
The production of PDO buffalo mozzarella from “Mozzarella di bufala Campana” takes place in the provinces of Salerno and Caserta alone. It is characterised with a porcelain white colour and possesses a delicate flavour and typical sweet smell.
Produced fresh every day, it can be cut off by hand or by shaping machines that produce pieces of predetermined weight, from 10 grams for: perlina (beads), cigliegina (cherry), bocconcino (morsel) up to three kilograms for:
trecce (braids) and nodini (knots).
We will have a private guided tour of the farm where the whole making process will be explained with a tasting at the end overlooking the buffaloes, witch is much more than a common excursion … In this places you can taste history and contact with an incredible environment, where nature and man live in perfect symbiosis.
Specialised personnel, directly the operators of the farm, are
here to answer all your questions and curiosities.
Finish our visit to the Mozarella Farm, we will make our move to Pasteum, a perfectly preserved city of Magna Grecia.
The ruins of Paestum are famous for their three ancient Greek Temples, dating from about 600 to 450 BC, which are in a very good state of preservation.
The city walls and amphitheatre are largely intact, and the bottom of the walls of many other structures remain, as well as paved roads.
The whole ancient city of Paestum covers an area of approximately 120 hectares. Only the 25 hectares that contain the three main temples and the other main buildings have been excavated.
The other 95 hectares remain on private land and have not been studied. The city is surrounded by defensive walls that still stand.
