Your first day on El Camino starts in the picturesque village of Tui, next to the Minho River. We'd recommend you start Camino by visiting La Cathedral de Santa María de Tui with its impressive Romanesque foundations from the 12th century, and get your first pilgrims stamp (sello) in the Cathedral. From the old town of Tui you will be walking uphill along El Camino de Barca. When you're out of Tui, you will pass the Tunel das Monxas and continue up to the beautiful bridge of San Telmo. From here on the terrain becomes a little easier on your way to O Porriño. Today´s hike will be 32 km (7 hours) long.

Day 4: Redondela - Pontevedra, Spain

Location: Pontevedra

Reach the Village of Arcade (B)

From Redondela, follow some beautiful walking paths to your next destination, Pontevedra. During the route you will be passing the Village of Arcade, known for its deliciously fresh oysters. Today's walk is around 19 km (4-5 hours). Once you get to your destination, enjoy the city’s old town, relax after a days’ walk and have a glass of the fantastic local wine - some of the world’s best white wines are found here!

On your way you will be passing many churches and monuments, among them The Church of Santa Maria de Caldas with foundations from the 13th century. In the beautiful area of Tibo, you'll find the church of Saint Tomás Becket, a pilgrim who made a stop in Caldas in the year of 1167 - remind you you are following an incredible history. Follow the Royal Road, cross the medieval-era Puente Bermaña, and reach the valley of the river Bermaña, surrounded by centuries-old forests. Today´s route will be around 22 km (4.5-5 hours) long.

From this sacred place his body was brought to Santiago de Compostela. On your way to Padrón you will get to see some of the famous old water mills, churches, and beautiful scenery. In Northern Spain eating is almost a ritual ceremony, and Padrón is no exception to this. Try the Pimientos de Padrón, a little green pepper served fried and salted, simple and delicious.

Here, you can attend the Pilgrim’s Mass and enjoy the city of Santiago and its small streets full of restaurants and bars. The Bamba Team really made my journey one of the most memorable experiences of my life! Still so nice and supportive! They handled everything and responded to each question within a few minutes. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone. Especially if you want to do a lot of activities and travel to a lot of different places without feeling rushed. They've also helped me with specific issues that weren't covered by the tour, as well as answering general questions. Thank you so much for making my journey so enjoyable!

I only have good words about our trip to Kenya. The entire experience was totally magical and I struggle to say how fantastic it was. We were fortunate enough to have a brilliant vehicle for ourselves, but we had great luck with David for our guide too. He was very knowledgeable, courteous and nice. Thank you for helping to create this fantastic safari experience. I Highly recommend this company.

Feb 20 2020

We organized a trip through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia on the hop-on, hop-off bus. It made the trip so much simpler for us as first-time travelers because we just had to send an email to arrange the bus, which avoided the hassle of looking for the best price and so on! We also had a number of tours included, they were all amazing and saved us the trouble of trying to find the best offers on our own; it also meant we got to see a lot of stuff we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that I will strongly suggest and use again!

Jun 25 2019

I had booked our Uyuni Salt Flats & Desert Adventure 3D/2N (Uyuni to Atacama) tour via an Australian travel agency, but they had made an error and refused to assist us or take responsibility. This was very difficult for us because we wanted to have a stress-free honeymoon. I contacted Bamba and I asked if we could talk on the phone so they made the improvements to our tour reservation that our travel agent declined to make. The quality of service was exceptional and they generously offered to us a complimentary gift because it was our honeymoon. I can't say enough good things about Bamba.
