Arequipa Accommodation Pick-Up and Travel to Colca CanyonGet picked up from your accommodation around 7:30 am and begin your journey to one of the deepest canyons in the world. Pass through the natural Reserva Nacional Salinas to view vicuñas, an endangered relative of the llama. Continue through the wetlands of Tocra where varieties of migratory birds can be seen, among which flamingos. Arrive in the village of Chivay for lunch before heading towards Yanque village where you will overnight. In the afternoon, you will get the opportunity to enjoy an optional short hiking with a local tour guide and marvel at the Uyo Uyo ruins and the pre-Inca terraces. You can also relax in the hot springs (at an extra cost) before going back to your accommodation.
NOTE: Please note that the lodging is basic. It has a private bathroom and hot water at 80% since sometimes due to weather conditions the water is not possible to heat as they use a solar heater. The rooms have no heating and in winter the temperature reaches -5 Celsius at night. However, the hostel staff will be happy to provide blankets, so you can get warm enough.

Explore Colca Canyon and Transfer to Puno (B)
Rise early and enjoy a breakfast at 6:00 am. Half an hour later, depart to Cruz del Condor viewpoint to admire the steep canyon walls and spot majestic condors over 5 meters in length cruising gracefully and silently overhead. You will then return to Chivay for lunch, passing through a few local villages along the way such as Maca as well as the viewpoints of Choquetico and Antahuilque. Then take your transfer to Puno with few stops on the way where you will get beautiful views of volcanoes, and you will pass the National Reserve Salinas and Aguada Blanca. You will arrive at Puno bus station around 07:30 pm. We wish you the best for your onward travels!
