New York - Philadelphia - Amish Country and Buggy Ride - Washington D.C.
Wave goodbye to New York City and ride through New Jersey and Pennsylvania into historic Philadelphia, the one-time capital of the United States. Trace the beginnings of the country, visiting the world-famous Liberty Bell, Independence National Park, Congress Hall, and Elfreth’s Alley, the oldest continually-inhabited street in the United States. Continue on a panoramic tour of the City of Brotherly Love, passing by the financial district, Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Historic Philadelphia and more. On the way out of the city see the “Rocky Steps” that Sylvester Stallone famously ran up and down in the classic movie “Rocky.” Next stop is Lancaster, the home of America’s tranquil and old-world Amish community. Start your visit with a ride in a traditional Amish buggy through the peaceful farm country and learn from your guide how the Amish live without modern technology. No electricity, running water, phones, appliances, or even zippers! After the buggy ride we will visit the Amish marketplace, where you can shop for beautiful, homemade handicrafts before heading on to Washington D.C., arriving in the evening for overnight.

Next, we will visit two fascinating monuments, the Capitol Hill, where you can see the nation’s capitol, senate, and of course the White House!. Learn about the core of the U.S. Government and see the place where it all happens. Next stop is the Stone of Hope, dedicated to Civil Rights Movement leader Martin Luther King. We will continue to the famous Air and Space Museum before visiting the Lincoln, Washington, Korea and Vietnam Memorials. We will depart from Washington in the late afternoon for an evening arrival in New York. We wish you health and happiness on your travels onward in the city that never sleeps!
