Tour Overview

Jordan is mentioned in several religious references as the Holy land (the old and new testament). Jordan is located at the bottom of the Rift Valley, so this makes Jordan an active point on trading routs of spice- trails, silk road traders, pilgrims, travelers and explorers over thousands of years. Jordan encompasses several Christian religious sites which are repeatedly mentioned in the old and new testament like Madaba, which is known as the capital of the mosaic art (2nd century - 9th century AD), Mount Nebo, where Mousas did look over the Holy land, Jordan River, where John the Baptist, baptized Jesus, Machaerus, where John the Baptist was executed, Saint George Church, 3rd century AD, one of the early days of Christianity martyrs. You could attend the mass in Mouses Church in Mount Nebo, this could be arranged in advance . You will also visit Petra, one of Seven Wonders of the World, Wadi Rum, Aqaba, Rift Valley and Amman. In 1994, we signed the Peace Treaty with Israel and this opened, peacefully, the holy land for many pilgrims and tourists from all over the world to come and visit this land with its Majestic Holiness from all over the world. This area became more green politically and geographically. This brought more peace and serenity into this Holy area.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Airport - Amman

Location: Amman, Amman

Accommodation: Hotel

Accommodation Name: Toledo Hotel

Today is arrival day. Our airport representative will meet you there at the airport. There are no planned activities for today so you can arrive anytime.
If you arrive early enough, you might like to take the opportunity to explore the streets and souks of downtown Amman independently.
Amman is the capital city of Jordan and home to almost half of the country’s population. The eclectic mix of cultures in the city means there is a wide choice of cafes and restaurants to try. If you have the time, you could visit one of the numerous museums scattered throughout or just soak up the vibrant atmosphere of the city.

Day 2 : Madaba

Location: St George's Greek Orthodox Church, Madaba

Accommodation: Hotel

Accommodation Name: Grand Hotel or similar

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Roman Theatre - Saint George Church

Our exploration begins with a sweeping view of the city from its highest point, the Citadel - Jabal al-Qala, which is positioned on a hill not far from the city's center. It is thought to have been fortified between 3,000 and 4,000 years ago during the Bronze Age but is no longer inhabited. Along with remnants of the 7th-century Umayyad Palace, the massive pillars of the Roman Temple of Hercules still stand and can be seen.

You can take a plunge in the Jordan River, which flows through the Holy land. Spend an hour in this sacred and thought-provoking place of introspection. We proceed onward toward Madaba and Mount Nebo, from whose peak Moses once looked out over the country of Jerusalem and Jericho.

We'll go to Moses' church there and witness the magnificently preserved mosaics from the sixth century that were discovered in the old basilica. After a brief journey, we will reach Madaba, where we will see the Church of Saint George.

Additionally called the "City of Mosaics" The bustling city of Madaba, which has a strong Christian tradition, is known for its Byzantine-era mosaics, the most famous of which is a map from the 6th century that can be found in the Church of St. George and is thought to be the earliest surviving map of the Holy Land.

Day 3 : Machaerus - Petra

Location: Fortress of Machaerus, Machaerus, Wadi Musa

Accommodation: Hotel

Accommodation Name: Petra Moon Luxury Hotel or similar

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Today we head to Mount Nebo, after traveling for 20 minutes, where it is thought that Moses once stood to see the promised land. For many committed Christians, Mount Nebo is a sacred place.

To reach one of the most inspiring settings, travel 40 minutes from Madaba to Machaerus along Kings Way, passing through rural villages and people.
The execution of John the Baptist by Herod Antipas took place at this location, which is significant in Christian history. To defend Hasmonean tribes from Greek incursions, Alexander Jannus constructed this fort in 90 BC. From this fort, you can see Masada, the Dead Sea, and Juraslim.

By afternoon, we head to Petra, unquestionably Jordan's most priceless gem. The play of light and shadow enhances this otherworldly location, which has been abandoned for decades, to produce an overall enchanted environment.

Day 4 : Petra

Location: Wadi Musa

Accommodation: Hotel

Accommodation Name: Petra Moon Luxury Hotel or similar

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

The brief route the Jordan Trail follows through the city in the rocks is intended simply to display a few of its highlights and to serve as a base for additional exploration, not to fully capture its depth. The city in the rocks is large enough to be explored on its own for days. There aren't many long-distance paths that can boast stages as consistently beautiful as this or a destination as worthwhile as Petra. Today, we learn about the artistic prowess of the Nabateans, who overcame obstacles like floods and mountains to transform them into art pearls. We descend to the Treasury (Al- Kaznah) by following the Siq canyon's natural contours, which are broken up by Nabatean monuments.
The principal attractions of the Treasury, theater, Royal tombs, colonnaded street, and Roman Gate are all included in this guided tour.

The city of Petra, also known as the Rose City, is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is an ancient archaeological city carved out of the rocks surrounding it by the Nabateans over 2000 years ago.
So much has been written about this site which was re-discovered by the Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt in 1812, but nothing prepares you for what you will discover in this place which was hidden from the Western world for over 500 years.
We begin the day with a guided tour of some of the key areas of Petra. The rest of the day will be exploring in your own time.
Most of what can be seen today was built by the Nabataeans - an Arab community who settled in Petra more than 2,500 years ago and who grew their wealth from tax proceeds from the passing silk and spice trade.
Petra is a vast collection of elaborate tombs and religious buildings and high points built and carved into the surrounding sandstone cliffs.
Set deep inside a narrow desert gorge, Petra is accessed through a 1KM chasm with towering walls known as the Siq. The path twists and turns until you reach the majestic Treasury appearing in front of you.
Carved into the dusky-pink rock face, the Treasury is miraculously well preserved, and the sheer size of this ornate structure represents the engineering genius of the Nabatean people. The conduit water system within the city is another example of how progressive and skilled they were.
Walking further into the city takes you passed many more impressive sites: tombs and temples, colonnaded streets and the huge theatre. You will find yourself immersed in history.

The tour guide will lead us to some important locations that you may want to climb to later, such as the high place of sacrifice or the 900-step monastery climb.

Day 5 : Little Petra- Wadi-Rum

Location: Wadi Rum Village

Accommodation: Hotel

Accommodation Name: Space Village Camp or similar

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

This morning, we drive 20 minutes bus journey to Little Petra. We visit the caravan station (3rd century BC- 2nd century AD), and attend moral cermony given by our priest. Then, head to Wasi Rum. Around, there are magnificent vistas and black Bedouin tents dispersed around these untamed hillsides. We switch into 4WD cars at the Wadi- Rum visitor center and explore the breathtaking sand dunes while following the antecedent routes of spice and silk traders.

The vast desert known as Wadi Rum is located in southern Jordan and is completely different from all other deserts in the globe. Many of the earlier civilizations called this region of the desert home. Because of the magnificently colorful sand dunes and enormous rock formations that resemble the lunar surface, Wadi Rum is often referred to as the Moon Valley. You can enjoy some incredible stargazing under the starry heavens at night.
Walk from Rum Village to Lawrence Spring, then continue to Alkhazaly Canyon (where you may see graffiti and rock art). You stroll to your camp from a tiny bridge. After dusk, we take advantage of the Bedouin hospitality around the campfire under a sky filled with stars; it's a wonderful place to tell tales and sip mint and sage tea. Along with a delectable array of mezze, a traditional zarb is served, which is made of chicken or goat meat (vegetarian options are also available) and cooked beneath the desert sand.

Our time with the Bedouins is still ongoing. We still have the option to ride camels to get a different perspective of the horizon or we can drive the Jeep straight back to the Wadi Rum visitor center.

Day 6 : Wadi-Rum - Aqaba

Location: Aqaba

Accommodation: Hotel

Accommodation Name: My Hotel or similar

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

1 hour bus journey to Aqaba, relaxing day on the Red Sea. Many locals like to come to Aqaba as the only coastal city in Jordan.

Before sunset, our guide will take us in a city tour to see spices and sweets shops. You might want to eat together in sea-food local restaurant or we can just relax. There, you have the chance by the Red Sea to swim and snorkel either from private beach or from the boat to see the beautiful marine life and red coral in Aqaba.

Day 7 : Dead Sea

Location: Dead Sea

Accommodation: Hotel

Accommodation Name: Toledo Hotel or similar

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

This morning we depart Aqaba and follow the Wadi Araba road, where you see two countries along the journey, Israel on the left side and Jordan on the right side (We signed peace treaty with Israel 1994)

This scenic road goes on the bed of the rift valley where colors of dunes and mountains are changing the scenery in dramatic way.

We will see the Ghore farms where most of vegetables and fruits on Jordanian dish come from.

This is 4 hours bus journey before we arrive the Dead Sea, the unique water body that has high salt content (33%) which means no marine life survives and it's impossible to sink.

It's an amazing experience of natural floating on the calm sea.

Finally, we drive back to Amman (the capital). You've some free time for some shopping and enjoy oriental meal before arriving the hotel.

This marks the end of your trip.
