Day 1: Start Of Tour In Cairo

Arrive at Cairo Airport and celebrate the start of the exciting 15 days ahead! Meet up with the local Expat Explore representative who will assist the group through the passport process. Then, travel to the hotel to meet the group's tour leader. Receive a tour briefing and learn more about the upcoming experiences and destinations you can look forward to. Get a good night's rest as tomorrow the adventure begins!
Day 2: Giza Pyramids - Sphinx - Sakkara
Location: Sakkara, Giza

Fuel up with breakfast before the day's exploration begins! Join your knowledgeable tour guide and set off for the Giza pyramid complex to see the only remaining Ancient World Wonder! Witness other famous sights, such as the legendary Great Sphinx. Then, discover Egypt's first completed pyramid, the Zoser (also known as Djoser) Step Pyramid in Sakkara. End the day with a choice of optional excursions. Choose the Sound and Light Show at Giza Pyramids for a mesmerising laser show, followed by dinner at a nearby restaurant. Or, join The Cairo Nile Dinner Cruise & Folklore Show for a night of feasting and traditional dancing on the water!Please note: The flight to Aswan is either on Sunday evening or Monday morning depending on availability.

Day 3: Aswan - Philae Temple

Upon arrival in Aswan after the included flight, meet up with the local Expat Explore representative, who will accompany the group to the hotel. Start the day’s discoveries with a visit to the picturesque Philae Temple. Journey to the temple island on a motorboat and marvel at this stunning location from the water before exploring these temples dedicated to Isis, the goddess of love. Later, return to the hotel in Aswan to rest up for more Egyptian adventures to come! Alternatively, choose to join tonight’s optional excursion to experience dinner at a local Nubian house.

Day 4: Nile Felucca Cruise

Enjoy a hearty breakfast as the tour prepares for a jam-packed day of exploration! At midday, embark on a Nile felucca, a traditional wooden sailing boat. Choose to join the optional excursion to Abu Simbel Temple this afternoon to explore the awe-inspiring Sun Temple of Ramses the Great and discover fascinating ancient pieces from Egypt’s past. Tonight, get ready to sleep under the stars aboard the felucca boat on the Nile River!

Day 5: Kom-Ombo - Karnak - Luxor

Grab breakfast before boarding the air-conditioned vehicle to travel to the city of Luxor. Upon arrival, marvel at the sights of grand monuments that have stood here since the ancient time of Thebes. Visit the Kom-Ombo temple, admiring its symmetrical entrances and riverside scenery. This afternoon, head to the east bank of the Nile for further exploration of Egypt’s iconic temples such as the Karnak and Luxor temples. Wander down the Avenue of Sphinxes which connects these ancient sites before heading back to the hotel in Luxor this evening.

Day 6: Valley Of The Kings - Hatshepsut - Hurghada

Today, tour the west bank of Luxor and dive into the rich history of the famous Valley of the Kings. Witness the majestic Temple of Hatshepsut (Deir el-Bahri), built for Egypt’s only female pharaoh. Today is another day in paradise! Enjoy the last free day to spend as you wish at this all-inclusive resort. Explore the best of Hurghada, taking in the sights of this stunning stretch of coastline along the Red Sea. Wander the golden beaches, find a comfy spot at the resort to relax under the sun, or put on your bathing suit and take a dip in the pool, the choice is yours! Snorkelling and scuba diving are also on offer today for those who’d like to take a dive into the adventurous side.
Day 9: Cairo

The tour continues to Cairo today! After breakfast, board the air-conditioned vehicle and travel to the capital of Egypt. Upon arrival, set off on a tour of the city. Visit the Egyptian Museum to learn more about this country’s fascinating history and culture and see the treasures that were discovered in King Tutankhamun’s tomb. Then, explore the bustling Khan El Khalili bazaar in the historic centre of Cairo. Wander the alleyways, shop for keepsakes, or stop at one of the many coffee shops to watch the buzz of activity around you.

Join The Sights of Alexandria optional excursion for a guided visit to this amazing city on the Mediterranean coast that boasts beautiful beaches and a dazzling seafront lined with cafés and restaurants. Alexandria is a historical city home to relics from thousands of years ago including catacombs, a fortress, and souks. Alternatively, opt for the trip to the National Museum and Monastery of St. Simon for a guided tour of this impressive National Museum and to witness the spectacular St. Simon cave church.
Day 11: Cairo - Amman

Bidding Egypt farewell, the tour makes its way to a brand new country, Jordan! After breakfast, head to Cairo Airport to catch a flight to Amman, the capital of Jordan. Upon arrival, meet the local Expat Explore representative, who will arrange the group's journey to the hotel in Amman and provide an overview of what to look forward to in this new destination. Enjoy free time this evening to explore as you wish, and feel free to ask your tour guide for any recommendations of where to discover first.
Day 12: Amman - Jerash - Petra

Today’s discovery starts with a city tour of Amman with visits to the Amman Citadel and the Roman Theatre as well as a tour of the Amman Panorama Art Gallery in Downtown Amman. Inhabited since the Bronze Age, Jerash is home to a wealth of history and culture and is well known for Geresa, a walled Greco-Roman settlement. After exploring this city, it’s time to travel to Petra! Upon arrival this evening, settle into the hotel and enjoy an included dinner with the group.

Day 13: Petra - Wadi Rum

A day full of travel highlights awaits! Begin by exploring one of the 7 New Wonders of the World, the “Red Rose City” of Petra, with a local guide. Carved into a rockface a millennia ago, this city has been given this nickname due to the colour of the sandstone from which it is carved. Travel a short distance along horseback through the Petra Seeq Canyon to reach the famous Treasury and marvel at the beauty of this long chamber along the way. This afternoon, enjoy an included lunch before continuing on to Wadi Rum. Arrive and take in the incredible desert landscapes before getting ready to spend a night under the stars at a Bedouin-style camp!

Day 14: Wadi Rum - Madaba - Mt. Nebo - Dead Sea - Amman

Have an early breakfast at the camp before embarking on a drive to Madaba. This ancient town is best known for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics. Notably, a large Byzantine-era mosaic map of the Holy Land, which can be found in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George. Afterwards, admire the views on a drive to Mount Nebo where, according to the Hebrew Bible, Moses was granted a view of the promised land. Then, it’s time for another highlight of the tour, a trip to the Dead Sea! Delight in free time to swim or float in these famous salty waters before returning to Amman. This evening, enjoy an included dinner with the group.

Today is the final day of your Egypt and Jordan tour! After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to your newfound travel friends and head to the airport. Expat Explore wishes you a safe journey home and hopes to take you on another adventure soon!

Do you operate a “single share” option and how does it work?
If you are travelling alone there is no compulsory charge - you will share a twin room with another passenger of the same gender. There is an optional single supplement/private room upgrade available for single travellers who wish to have a private room. This can be added at the time of booking or by contacting our team.

Children on tour?
Our tours are not suitable for young children which is why we have a minimum age limit of 10 years old. However, at the discretion of Expat Explore we may consider younger children on certain tours if they meet certain criteria and a request is received in writing via email. Minors (between 10 and 18 years of age) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who accepts full responsibility for them. Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted on tour. Expat Explore reserves the right to decline any booking at our discretion. Any minor (between 10 and 18 years of age) is priced the same as an adult.
