Day 1 : Arrival In Kathmandu (1300M):

You will land at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu. Our representative from Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure will be there to receive you and drop to the respective hotel with all the hospitality. Day 2 : Sightseeing Kathmandu Valley(4-6Hr) And Trek Preparation:

After morning breakfast, we will be headed for a Day tour of Kathmandu valley. You’ll explore different UNESCO’s world heritage sites including Pashupatinath temple, Kathmandu Darbar Square, Boudhanath Stupa, and many more. Witness the various forms of art, sculpture, pilgrimage here. Your tour today will reflect the Nepalese cultures, traditions, and heritage. Back to the hotel for further preparation of the trek. Your guide will help you through the preparations as well. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 3 : Drive From Kathmandu – Pokhara (823M): 6-7 Hrs

After breakfast, we will head towards one of the charismatic cities all over Nepal, Pokhara. The place is full of delightful places, fresh air with a close view of the snow-capped mountains. Pokhara is also popular for lakes, mountains, paragliding, and boating. You can enjoy boating in Phewa Lake and also taste some delicious local street foods of Pokhara. Overnight at a hotel in Pokhara.

Day 4 : Pokhara – Jomsom, And Trek To Kagbeni (2858M): 20Min Flight, 3-4 Hrs Trek

We have to catch an early morning flight from Pokhara to Jomsom. Jomsom is the district headquarter of Mustang which is a large and beautiful village famous for its tasty apples. After we landed, trip onwards following the bank of Kali Gandaki River, upstream about 3hrs witnessing the beautiful views of land topographies to Ekley-Bhatti village. After some rest, we headed to Kagbeni which is located at the bank of two rivers. It’s a medieval settlement located at the crossroads of the ancient trade route between India and Tibet. Kagbeni will be the best experience in the Annapurna Circuit, has some lodge with all good facilities. Overnight in Redhouse lodge, Kagbeni.

Day 5 : Kagbeni – Chele (3035M): 5-6 Hrs

Trek begins alongside the Kaligandaki and onward stiff hills to Tangbe village. Amazing houses with white walls, the red doors, and the windows. Despite having narrow streets, we can still able to see the surrounded mountain around the village. Continue to walk along the path and mountain ridge reaching to Chele village. Overnight in Chele.

Day 6 : Chele – Gelling (3475M) 6-7 Hrs
Location: Kagbeni

Resuming our trek after morning breakfast, we again enter the Buddhist region beyond Chele. Headed above lines of the tree and small hills crossing the suspended bridge of the Ghyakar River to Ghyakar. Continue up to cross the Chele La (3630m) and Samar (3620m). Ascend up to pass Gheling to reach Bhena (3860m) and then to Yamdo (3920m). From here we’ll do the Yamdo La Pass (4010m) and head towards Shyangmochen. It’s an hour or so of a gradual walk to reach Gelling. Overnight in Gelling.

Day 7 : Gelling – Tsarang (3575M): 6-7 Hrs

Heading toward the Gelling to Tsarang, up to the center of the valley passing Nyi La (4020m), a steep descend incline leads us to Ghemi. Ghemi is the third-largest village in Upper Mustang. Crossing the Tangmar River we will reach a valley that continues up to Choya La (3870m). The spectacular views of Tilicho, Nilgiri, Annapurna and Damodar Cluster, you will be the witness of. Trek downhill to reach the second largest town of Tsarang. Overnight in Tsarang.

Day 8 : Tsarang – Lo Manthang (3840M): 4-5 Hrs
Location: Lo Manthang

Early in the morning after breakfast, we’ll explore the Tsarang village and the natural beauty surrounding it. A short tour around will lead you to a Gompa (Buddhist temple) and many small Chortens. Continuing trip to Lo Manthang takes about 4 to 5 hours distance, offers the combo of adventurous and cultural beauty. It is the safest and easy road trip along the trek. A landscape full of hills, cliffs, and rocks offers blissful scenery that joins you throughout the trail. We’ll rest for the day after reaching Lo Manthang. Overnight in Lo Manthang.

Day 9 : Sightseeing Lo-Manthang (3810M):

Today we will be exploring surrounding parts and areas of Lo-Mangthang. We will be headed to Hilltop to visit Namgyal Gompa and Tingkhar. Situated at the top of the hill offers a thrilling experience. Continuing trip toward the main attraction of the Town, Tall Champa Lakhang “God house” the red Thugchen Gompa, the Entrance Hall, and Chyodi Gompa. The palace of the former king of Lho is another attraction for the visitors here. After all, we ascend to the hotel and rest for the day. Overnight in Lomanthang.

Day 10 : Lo-Mangthang – Drakmar (3810M): 5-6 Hrs
Location: Mustang

Today we will be heading toward Drakmar via Gyakar. During the trip, we will have a brief visit to Ghar Gompa. This about 1200 years old Gompa is one of the best ways to witness Tibetan History culture and art here in the Mustang region. There is a saying by local people and belief that, anyone who makes a wish all by heart at Ghar Gompa will be fulfilled. We will continue to walk towards Drakmar from here. Overnight in Drakmar.

Day 11 : Drakmar – Ghilling (3806M): 5-6 Hrs
Location: Mustang

Returning back to Ghilling takes 5-6 hours, enjoying the amazing scenery of Himalaya and Landscapes. It’s better to take an evening walk for the trek due to dusty wind in the afternoon. Overnight in Ghilling.

Day 12 : Ghilling – Chhuksang (3050M): 5-6 Hrs

We resume our journey early morning from Ghilling to Chhuksang which takes about 5-6 hours. Way to Chhuksang offers fabulous views of Himalayan, passing through sparse forest and rocky ridges. You will reach the lovely village of Chhuksang in the afternoon. Chhuksang is a beautiful village, well known for its culture and landscape. Overnight in Chhuksang.

Day 13 : Chhuksang – Jomsom (2700M): 6-7 Hrs

Our journey will start early in the morning, we have gone a long way back to Kagbeni. Reaching back to Upper Mustang and join Annapurna circuit trek. Spending some time to enjoy the scenarios of mountains, snow-capped hills, and the sunlight, we resume our trek to Jomsom after lunch. Walking beside the Kaligandaki River, we will end the Upper Mustang trek at Jomsom today. Overnight in Jomsom.

Day 14 : Fly Back To Pokhara
Location: Pokhara

Catch morning flight back to Pokhara. You can visit some remaining blissful destinations in the valley such as Devis falls, Mahendra Cave, Bindabasini Temple, and more. You can hike up to the White stupa also known as World Peace Stupa. Back to the lakeside hotel. Overnight at the hotel with proper hospitality.

Day 15 : Drive Back To Kathmandu ( 6 To 7 Hr)

We start our journey early after breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu takes about 6-7 hours. In the evening, we will conduct a farewell dinner together celebrating a successful trek and conducting some traditional and cultural dance for some entertainment and relief from tiredness along the journey. Yes! Our team are in Nepal all year round and we run many private or bespoke treks and climbs all over Nepal. The only restriction in place for a private trek of the Upper Mustang is that we must have a minimum of two people.

Upper Mustang was a restricted demilitarised region until 1992, which makes it one of the most preserved areas in the world due to its relative isolation from the outside world. WHY IS THE UPPER MUSTANG TREK MORE EXPENSIVE THAT OTHER TREKS OF THE SAME LENGTH?
Our price is based in using 4 internal flights, however it is possible to travel by road, which will drop the price, however the main reason the trek is more expensive, than say a 14 day trek to Everest, is due to the permit which is currently $500 per person.

Upper Mustang was not open for trekkers since 1992 but when the self-governed Mustang Kingdom decided to welcome foreign visitors, they made an expensive entry fee applicable for all foreigners to collect good amount of revenue for the local government.
