For most of the drive, you will have the National Park views to your west and the breathtaking views of the coastline to your east. “The Bay” is perfectly located for driving, trekking, or undemanding walks through the Clyde Valley and the surrounding mountainous National Parks. Additionally, the restaurant-lined seafront promenade and the beautiful beaches make this the perfect holiday destination. Here you may partake in many watersports such as surfing, kayaking, or stand-up paddle-boarding.

Day 3: Batemans Bay — Tilba Tilba — Merimbula
Location: Merimbula
Accommodation Name: Hotel in Merimbula
Following the Princes Highway, drive through the many towns and breathtaking forests on your way to the state border between New South Wales and Victoria. Pass through Tilba Tilba, a pocket-sized heritage town tucked away off the Princes Hwy and drive along the amazing Sapphire Coast to the city of Merimbula where lakes, lagoons, and the ocean are separated by white sand, and fringed by unspoiled bushlands stretching up into the mountains. This coastal town in New South Whales boasts excellent surfing beaches and whale watching spots. Its boardwalk hugs the shores of Merimbula Lake and here you can find the Potoroo Palace — a wildlife sanctuary.
Overnight in Merimbula
Day 4: Merimbula — Lakes Entrance
Location: Lakes Entrance
Accommodation Name: Hotel in Lakes Entrance
Today you will travel south along the Princes Highway via the Cann River. Near Cabbage Tree Creek, leave the highway to visit Cape Conran Coastal Park and see the village of Marlo. Rejoin the highway in Orbost, situated on the banks of the Snowy River. Head on a short drive to Lakes Entrance, a breathtaking area with rivers, lakes, and lagoons joining 90 Mile Beach. This area is home to the Gippsland Lakes, a vast system of inland waterways. Local wildlife includes kangaroos and dolphins, which you may be able to spot by the beaches.

Day 5: Lakes Entrance — Wilsons Promontory

Leaving Lakes Entrance, continue along the Princes Highway through the breathtaking Victorian bushland. Continue south via Yarram and Foster to reach the extraordinary Wilsons Promontory in the southeast. This area is riddled with masses of green forests and gardens, gorgeous mountains, rocky rivers, picturesque towns, and, to a large degree, is defined by its long sandy beaches. If you love natural scenery and secluded white-sand beaches, you will fall in love with Wilsons Promontory National Park; one of the most popular parks in Australia. As the southernmost part of mainland Australia, it once formed part of a land bridge that made it possible for people to walk to Tasmania.
