Your journey will begin in Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland, where you will get the opportunity to see museums, shopping centers, bars, and restaurants. Take in the panoramic views of the Edinburgh skyline, see the Princes Street Gardens, and visit Edinburgh Castle, a historic fortress dominating the city as a 400-foot structure. Take a train from Edinburgh to York, passing by breathtaking landscapes on your way to this exhilarating English city. York is known as the cathedral city of Roman origin and is famous for its magnificent medieval streets and buildings. Shambles is a must-see site, as one of the top recognized streets in England. Later, you will travel to London, the capital city of Britain. Discover some of the most famous attractions such as the Houses of Parliament, St Pauls Cathedral, the London Eye, Shakespeares Globe Theatre, the Gherkin Tower, and London Bridge. Remember to visit the Tower of London, a historic castle located on the banks of the Thames River, before your 8-day train tour of the United Kingdom comes to an end!

Day 1: Edinburgh Arrival (-/-/-)
Today upon arrival at Edinburgh airport you will be transferred to your hotel. Head out to explore the beautiful capital city of Scotland, which is split into two main areas – the New Town with its orderly streets and Georgian mansions, and the Old Town with its narrow lanes and medieval buildings. If you have an open-top bus ticket, it is valid for 24 hours, so if you arrive in the morning, you can start using it to hop on and hop off one of the sightseeing buses this afternoon. Edinburgh is a vibrant city, with excellent shopping spots and restaurants, so you will not be short of things to see and do.

Day 2: Edinburgh (B/-/-)
In the morning after breakfast, you can continue to explore the city on your open-top bus tour. You may choose to visit Edinburgh Castle today. Edinburgh Castle is beautifully situated on top of an extinct volcano with stunning views of the city. You can either use an audio guide (available in several languages) or take one of the guided tours of the castle in English, to hear stories of the One Oclock Gun, the Scottish Crown Jewels, St Margarets Chapel and much more. There are several museums within the castle walls to explore, as well as cafes and shops.

Day 3: Edinburgh – York (B/-/-)
This morning after breakfast, make your own way to Waverley Station in Edinburgh, where you will board a train to York. Sit back and enjoy one of the most scenic train journeys in Britain, as the train travels along the east coast of the Scottish Borders, crossing the border into England, to follow the Northumberland coast. The afternoon is free to explore York on your own after you check-in. The town walls and medieval lanes mean that the city is best explored on foot, make sure to walk down the Shambles, the most famous street in York where the overhanging timber-framed buildings almost touch above your head. You may also choose to visit the magnificent York Minster, the largest gothic cathedral in Britain.

Day 4: York (B/-/-)
After breakfast, continue to explore York. You may take a river cruise or an open-top bus tour around the city, or visit one of the many interesting attractions, such as Yorks Chocolate Story or Jorvik Centre. There is also the option to join a day tour to one of the two national parks in Yorkshire – North York Moors or the Yorkshire Dales.

Day 5: York – London (B/-/-)
Today after breakfast, make your way to the train station in York, where you board a train for the short journey to London. On arrival in London, make your way to your hotel to check-in. If you have an open-top bus ticket, you can start using it this afternoon to explore Britains cosmopolitan capital city. It is valid for 24 hours, and you have a choice of routes on the sightseeing buses, as well as a choice of three different walking tours and a cruise on the river.

Day 6: London (B/-/-)
After breakfast, in the morning you can continue to explore London. The afternoon is free to discover London on your own – you may visit Harrods, the famous department store, or enjoy Afternoon Tea in an iconic hotel. There are many famous attractions to visit on your own, such as Madame Tussauds and the London Eye, so you will not be short of options.

Day 7: London – Usa / Canada (B/-/-)
Today is the last day of your tour. After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to London International airport for your onward flight home.

What happens if I need to change my holiday date once I’ve booked?
Changes to an existing reservation up to the Final Payment Date, whatever the cause, will incur a $100 per person amendment fee, potential loss of any supplier fees (such as non-refundable event tickets, park permits, and sea cruise reservations) plus any costs for replacement services. On/ after the Final Payment Date, the $100 change fee is no longer valid, instead cancellations terms apply.
