Welcome to Germany! Frankfurt is the financial and commercial heart of Germany and is a city full of fascinating contrasts ranging between modern developments and historic landmarks. Upon arrival at the international airport in Frankfurt, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Day 2: Frankfurt – Rudesheim – St. Goar – Frankfurt (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you will travel to Rudesheim, where you will embark on a short tour of the city‘s historic center. Next, board a ship to sail down the most picturesque stretch of the Rhine: the Lorelei valley. Enjoy wine tasting while you are onboard the cruise. You will disembark in St. Goar and make your way back to Frankfurt.

In the morning you will travel to Heidelberg to visit the famous castle, followed by a tour of the historic city center. Perfectly located on the shores of the Neckar River, Heidelberg is Germanys oldest university town and is one of the most popular travel destinations in the country. You will travel to Baden-Baden, the former summer residence of European nobility, known for its thermal baths worldwide. You will then continue on to see the lovely Freiburg, known for its beautiful church tower.

Day 4: Freiburg – Colmar – Strasbourg – Freiburg (B/-/-)

The Rhine River forms the natural border between Germany and France. After crossing the river, you will arrive in Colmar, known for its outstanding wines and rich architectural heritage which reflects the rich history of this region and the German and French influences. Enjoy a typical Alsatian Lunch (not included). After that, you will continue your journey to Strasbourg, the capital of Alsace, where you will head on a tour of the city. Being the base of several European institutions, Strasbourg is also a symbolic capital of Europe. In the afternoon you will return to Freiburg.

Day 5: Freiburg – Lindau – Fussen (B/-/-)

After a delicious breakfast, you will drive to the Black Forest and see a short presentation of a traditional cuckoo clock production. You will then visit a small traditional Black Forest farm, where you will be able to sample cheese and discover the real Black Forest. Afterwards, continue your tour to the small island of Lindau on Lake Constance, which offers spectacular views of the Alps. Depending on the weather conditions, you will take the Alpine Road from Lindau to Oberstaufen and Immenstadt to Fussen, the southernmost point on your tour of Germany.

Day 6: Neuschwanstein – Oberammergau – Linderhof – Fussen (B/-/-)

You will start your day with a visit to Neuschwanstein, built by Ludwig II, the notorious “Mad King“. At midday, you will travel to Oberammergau, known for its famous Passion Play and lovely crafts. Along the way, you will visit the Wieskirche Church and make a brief stop in the Ettal Benedictine Abbey before continuing your tour to see the Linderhof Castle. This is one of the three castles built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria and the only one where the king actually lived for a significant period of time. From there you will make your way back to Fussen.

In the morning you will travel to Munich, the capital of Bavaria. You will see the citys main attractions before you end your tour at Marienplatz, known for its famous clock tower. The afternoon will be free for you to explore the city at leisure. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Bavarian dinner (not included).

Changes to an existing reservation up to the Final Payment Date, whatever the cause, will incur a $100 per person amendment fee, potential loss of any supplier fees (such as non-refundable event tickets, park permits, and sea cruise reservations) plus any costs for replacement services. On/ after the Final Payment Date, the $100 change fee is no longer valid, instead cancellations terms apply.
