Location: Etosha National Park
Accommodation Name: lodge in Etosha National Park
Meals Included: Breakfast
Enjoy a delicious breakfast and embark on a full day dedicated entirely to exploring the abundant wildlife of Etosha National Park, which surrounds the vast, dry salt desert known as the Etosha Pan. The park is home to four of the Big Five—elephant, lion, leopard, and rhino. Established as Namibia's first conservation area in 1907 by Governor von Lindequist, the park offers an incredible array of wildlife. While the park is vast, only the southern edge of the pan is accessible to visitors. Game viewing in Etosha primarily revolves around the waterholes, some spring-fed and others supplied by boreholes, making them perfect spots to watch over 114 species of game or, for avid birders, more than 340 bird species. Youll have the chance to see popular games like giraffe, blue wildebeest, plains and mountain zebra, hyena, lion, leopard, and antelope species such as kudu, oryx, and eland. You might also spot endangered species, including the black rhino, cheetah, and the black-faced impala. The extensive network of roads links over 30 waterholes, giving you ample opportunity for an unforgettable game-viewing safari as each area of the park offers unique encounters.

Day 9: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK (B/-/-)
Location: Etosha National Park
Accommodation Name: lodge in Etosha National Park
Meals Included: Breakfast
Today, your guide will take you on another exciting game drive in Etosha National Park, or you can opt to book an open game drive with the lodge. You may encounter animal species you didnt see the previous day, and youll look forward to new surprises as you visit different waterholes. The Etosha Pan dominates the park. This vast salt pan desert, nearly completely enclosed by the park and dotted with numerous watering holes, stretches roughly 130 km long and 50 km wide in places. During Etoshas dry spells, the pan becomes a harsh and cracked landscape, scorched by the intense African sun. Its said that game viewing is best during these dry periods, as animals gather closer to the water. However, even during the rainy season, the park remains a thriving haven for wildlife. Youll have the pleasure of witnessing the rebirth of life, with young foals, cubs, and chicks playing with their parents, while new green shrubs and grasses create a refreshing oasis in the park. In the afternoon, youll return to your lodge, where the rest of the evening is yours to enjoy at leisure.
