Enjoy a comfortable transfer while a guide will inform you about the attractions and services the city offers and will assist you with the check-in at your hotel. Begin your tour at the main square, Plaza de Armas, admiring its elegant neo-Renaissance style basilica cathedral and the sensational Santa Catalina convent, which for centuries was a forbidden city within a city, closed off from prying eyes and the influences of the outside world. Founded in the 16th century, the convent was an almost self-sustained village, made up of houses for the nuns and their servants, cloisters, plazas, and narrow streets, kitchens, refectories and more. The nuns’ families paid vast dowries for their daughters to be admitted, which added to the convent’s wealth and prestige. Nowadays, to wander through its brightly coloured alleys is to step back in time and understand colonial Peru. Finally, head to the residential districts of Yanahuara and Carmen Alto, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of El Misti volcano rising above the city.Overnight at selected hotel in Arequipa on a bed and breakfast basis.
