Noon arrivals are too late. One of our representatives will receive and welcome you and then you will be transferred to the selected hotel. After a short break at the hotel, you will be picked up by your local guide to start the tour at 1 pm. Enjoy a guided 4-hour tour of this charming city, which was the capital of the Inca Empire. The tour starts with a visit to Santo Domingo Convent, a large Renaissance-baroque complex, which was built over the Inca Coricancha temple. It was one of the most important temples dedicated to worshipping of the sun, and its foundations are still prominent at the base of the convent. Ancient chronicles say the temple was covered in gold leaf and filled with golden representations of nature. Then, visit the Cathedral, the most imposing monument of the Main Square. After breakfast at the hotel, a private transportation service will pick you up and transfer you to the Ollanta Station to board the train to Aguas Calientes, the nearest town to Machu Picchu. Following a scenic journey through dramatic Andean landscapes, arrive at the station in Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, you will be guided to the bus that takes you to Machu Picchu. From here, you will take a 25-minute bus ride to Machu Picchu, the 'lost city of the Incas'. It is believed that the archaeological site was built around 1450 by the Inca Pachacútec as his holiday residence. You are picked up from the hotel early in the morning, at approximately 4 am and transferred to Cusipata, where the hike begins. The trek is surrounded by beautiful sceneries of the Andes and guarded by the majestic Ausangate Mountain, one of the most important mountains of Cusco, considered a sacred entity since the times of the Incas. Once you reach the viewpoint of the 7-Colour Mountain, appreciate the surroundings from up high. After a few minutes, start descending to Cusipata, where your transfer is waiting for you to return to Cusco. On the way you will stop to savor a lunch. Arrival at the hotel in Cusco at approximately 4 pm. Rest of afternoon at leisure.

Weather in the region is extremely variable and we suggest you to pack for a variety of conditions. In addition, our trek passes through various bio-zones ranging from high altitude alpine conditions to high jungle. During a sunny day you can expect temperatures of about 18–27°C (65–80°F), however, on the pass the weather is very unpredictable and temperatures can drop to 0°C (30°F) during the day (but you won’t spend a lot of time up there). At nights, temperatures vary from 05 - 10º C to 0°C or below. We provide you a Sleeping bag that can support -28 °C (-18 F), and a bottle of hot water for your convenience.
Expect a mixture of terrain from the highlands to the cloud forest. Most of the road is rocky, passing through steep parts and downs, surrounded by stunning natural landscapes.

Day 4: During the months of December and March (rainy season), we will include the visit to Chinchero, town of Maras and chicherías (local corn beer factory), instead of Las Salineras. Also, during these months, you have the option to replace this tour with a visit to the South Valley

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE NEW ENTRANCE REGULATIONS TO MACHU PICCHU
The current restrictions on visits to Machu Picchu allow a maximum stay of 4 hours in the citadel (2 hours and a half accompanied by a guide). If the visitor tours an alternate route (Mountain Machu Picchu or Huayna Picchu) the passenger will have 3 hours for this purpose, additional to the 4 hours in the citadel. If the passenger wishes to enter the citadel again during the afternoon shift or the next day, he must acquire previously an additional ticket to enter the new shift. There is no ticket sale in the archaeological zone.
To help preserve the Machu Picchu Historical Sanctuary and maintain its World Heritage status, the Ministry of Culture has designated various visitor circuits. The specific circuit and schedule will be assigned based on availability at the time your reservation is confirmed.
The following objects are forbidden: professional cameras that require lights and tripods, or with telephoto lenses with a weight higher than 2 kilos (in order to use them, special authorization is needed, as well as the payment of an additional fee), drones, selfie sticks, sprays, high heels, walking sticks without rubber tip, banners and posters, sharp objects and backpacks bigger than 40cm x 35 cm x 20 cm.
NEW PLASTIC REGULATION:
After prohibiting the access of single use plastic items to 76 natural areas including Machu Picchu, it is important to use reusable bottles.
