Tour Overview

Tengkoma Peak is a 6215m tall non-technical climbing peak just before the Kanchenjunga northern base. Kanchenjunga base camp trek will lead you into the pristine Kanchenjunga Conservation Area of Nepal. This park is named after its massive snow treasure Mount Kanchenjunga with an elevation of 8,586m from sea level. Mount Kanchenjunga is 3rd highest mountain in the world after Mount Everest and Mount K2. Few climbers have summited Tengkoma and compared its difficulty as of Mera peak and Yala peak. It will take 14 days to trek to the Lhonak village and summit the peak. From the summit of Tengkoma you can see great views of Kanchenjunga, Dhormo, Kirat Chuli, Pathibhara, Ramthang Chang, Gimnigela Chuli, Kumbhakarna, Everest, Makalu and parts of Tibet. On this alpine-style peak climbing trip with Mount Adventure Holidays, you will take a flight to Bhadrapur airport and continue on a jeep drive to Taplejung. You will then trek through beautiful villages of the eastern Himalayas and enter the Kanchenjunga conservation area. The area is rich in biodiversity with amazing landscapes. It is home to rare animals like red pandas and snow leopards. You will continue trek towards the Lhonak village through the mountain valley. All of your climbing gear is stored in the Lhonak village giving our trip a competitive advantage over cost and quality. From Lhonak you will camp at the base of Tengkoma peak at an altitude of 5500m, next day early in the morning you will summit the peak. Since this peak is fairly easy to climb success rate is likely to be 100%. Climbing Tengkoma peak is a good peak to start the mountaineering adventure.
