Day 2: Seoul Sightseeing

Venture to the majestic Gyeongbokgung Palace, the largest among the "Five Grand Palaces" built during the last Korean Dynasty, the Joseon Dynasty. Within the palace's grounds, pay a visit to Jogyesa Temple, a sanctuary dedicated to Buddhism, and The National Folk Museum, which offers a fascinating exploration of Korean culture, tradition, and history.
Afterwards, head to the vibrant district of Insadong. You'll have the chance to explore antique shops, craft boutiques, pottery studios, traditional restaurants, and inviting teahouses. If time permits, you can also explore an amethyst or ginseng specialist, offering home remedies and exquisite finery.

Day 3: Jeonju

Seoul - Jeonju - Gwangju. Today's journey takes you southwest towards Jeonju, the capital of Jeollabuk-do province, nestled in the Honam Plain. This region is renowned for its exceptional produce, including succulent strawberries.
In the afternoon, you'll visit Jeonju Hanok Village. Here, you'll discover 700 traditional Korean homes, meticulously crafted from clay, wood, and stone—a rare sight in today's urban landscape. Many of these homes continue to serve as residences, while others have been transformed into guesthouses, museums, galleries, and inviting teahouses.
Jeonju also boasts cultural gems such as the Gyeonggijeon Shrine, a tribute to King Taejo, the founder of the Joseon Dynasty. Additionally, you'll view the western-style cathedral - Jeondong Catholic Church. It stands as the largest western-style structure in the province, a symbol of the diversity of cultural influences found in South Korea.
Later in the day, depart for Gwangju, where you'll spend the night.
Day 4: Boseong

Gwangju - Boseong - Yeosu. Today, explore the captivating region of Boseong. This picturesque area is characterized by stunning mountains, the flowing Boseong River, and rolling green hills.
You'll have the chance to visit a tea plantation, where you'll get to taste some of the local green tea. This region's tea culture and production techniques have been refined over generations, resulting in a delightful and distinctive flavour. Then, visit Seonamsa Temple, nestled at the western end of Mount Jogyesan and featuring beautiful arch bridges.
Afterwards, head to Suncheonman Bay, renowned as the ecological capital of South Korea and recognized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). This vast wetland, stretching 40 kilometers in length, features expansive fields of reeds, creating a truly spectacular landscape.
As your day's exploration concludes, you'll head onwards to Yeosu, where you'll spend the night.
Day 5: Yeosu

Yeosu - Namhae - Busan. Leaving Yeosu behind, your journey follows the coastline, leading you to Namhae, often referred to as the 'treasure island of Korea.' Connected to the mainland by a remarkable 660-meter-long and 80-meter-high suspension bridge, this island offers awe-inspiring views of the surrounding landscape.
In Namhae, you'll visit Daraengi Village, a place that features 108 terraces of rice patties adorning the hillside. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to visit the German Village, a unique enclave built in the distinctive style of German architecture and constructed using materials imported from Germany. This village was originally established for German-Koreans who had migrated to Germany in the 1960s in search of work and later returned to their homeland.
Continuing your journey, you'll make your way to Busan, where you'll spend the night.
Day 6: Busan

Busan - Gyeongju. Today, enjoy a Busan city tour, beginning with a visit to the Busan Tower, perched within Yongdusan Park. Here, you'll be treated to sweeping panoramic views of the entire city. Next on your itinerary is a visit to the lively Jagalchi Fish Market, a bustling hub where locals engage in spirited haggling with fishermen over their fresh catches.
Following your exploration of Busan, your journey continues to Gyeongju, a city steeped in history and often referred to as a living history museum. Serving as the capital of the Silla Kingdom from 57 BC to 935 AD, Gyeongju is home to a wealth of archaeological sites and ancient relics.
In the afternoon, visit the UNESCO-listed temples of Bulguska, where you'll encounter the extraordinary Seokguram Grotto. This grotto, perched at an elevation of 750 meters above sea level and gazing out over the Sea of Japan, is celebrated as one of Asia's most exceptional Buddhist shrines.
Day 7: Gyeongju

Gyeongju, nestled in the North Gyeongsang province, bears the historical weight of being the ancient capital of the Silla Kingdom, a force that ruled much of the Korean Peninsula during the 7th to 9th centuries. This rich legacy has left behind numerous remnants, earning Gyeongju the well-deserved moniker of "the museum without walls."
Today, tour Tumuli Park, where you'll encounter a remarkable collection of large and small tombs dating back to the Silla period. Among them lies the resting place of King Michu, the 13th King of the dynasty, celebrated for his role in repelling invaders. Legend has it that soldiers emerged from his tomb with bamboo leaves stuffed in their ears to fend off intruders after his death, giving rise to the name "Bamboo Soldier Tomb."
You'll also discover Anapji Pond, a colossal oval-shaped, man-made pond spanning 200 meters from east to west and 180 meters from north to south. Renovations in the 1970s and 80s unearthed a treasure trove of relics, many of which are now showcased in the Gyeongju National Museum. Among its prized possessions is the Emille Bell, the largest extant bell in Korea. Finally, end the day with a visit to Cheomseongdae Observatory, one of the world's oldest scientific installations.

Ascend to Gweongeumseong Peak via a cable car. From this elevated vantage point, you'll be treated to wonderous views that allow you to fully appreciate the park's breathtaking landscapes. Next, visit the serene Shinheungsa Temple, nestled at the foot of the park.
As your day of hiking comes to an end, you'll make your way back to Seoul.
