Day 1: Hobart

Hobart - Mount Field National Park - Lake St. Clair - Queenstown. Our journey begins in Hobart, before we head north to the tranquil beauty of Mount Field National Park, where you’ll stroll among some of the world’s tallest trees and marvel at the enchanting Russell Falls.After soaking in the sights, we’ll head west to the serene Lake St Clair, Australia’s deepest freshwater lake, where you can appreciate the pristine waters. As we enter the rugged Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, we’ll embark on short scenic walks along the tannin-rich waters of the Franklin River, and visit the cascading Nelson Falls.Continuing further west, you’ll be treated to expansive views of the buttongrass plains and the dramatic landscapes of Mt Lyell. We’ll explore the historic Iron Blow and admire the cascading Horsetail Falls, each offering a unique perspective of Tasmania. We continue to the charming town of Queenstown, where we spend the night. Tour pick up: You will be collected from a designated pick up spot in Hobart between 7:00 and 7:30 this morning. Please see the Trip Notes for the full list of offered pick up spots. You must tell us in advance where you wish to be collected from. We do not offer pre-tour accommodation, but you must arrive in Hobart the day before your tour starts.
Day 2: Queenstown

Queenstown - Macquarie Harbour - Sarah Island - Tullah. Today we enjoy an included cruise along the magnificent Gordon River, where we sail through the tranquil waters of Macquarie Harbour, all the way to the imposing Hells Gates.
Stepping back in time, we explore the historic convict site of Sarah Island before venturing upriver into the heart of the World Heritage-listed rainforests. We take a leisurely stroll along a boardwalk surrounded by ancient Huon pines and enjoy an included lunch back on board, featuring the finest Tasmanian produce.
In the afternoon, we journey to the charming town of Tullah, where, on clear days, we can relish stunning views across Lake Rosebery to the rugged peaks of Mount Murchison. Our day will conclude with a delightful group dinner, followed by a relaxing stay in a cosy lakeside chalet, ensuring a restful night after our adventures.
Day 3: Tullah

Tullah - Cradle Mountain - Sheffield - Launceston. Today after breakfast, immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of Cradle Mountain National Park.
At Ronny Creek, we stroll along the boardwalk in search of wombats, enjoying the serene surroundings. From there, we make our way to Dove Lake, where we take a beautiful walk around this glacially carved wonder, surrounded by majestic mountains and unique alpine vegetation. As we explore, we can take in the stunning valley views from the historic Boat Shed or admire the impressive Glacial Rock.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit the charming town of Sheffield, known as the “Town of Murals,” where we can appreciate the artistic charm of its vibrant street art. We’ll conclude our day in Launceston, where a comfortable bed awaits to recharge us for the adventures ahead.
Day 4: Launceston

Launceston - St Helens - Bicheno. Today we will discover the stunning natural beauty of Tasmania’s East Coast. We begin our day with a visit to Cataract Gorge, a magnificent nature reserve just minutes from downtown Launceston. Here we can take in the panoramic views before journeying towards the East Coast, stopping for lunch in the charming town of St Helens.
This afternoon, we explore the breathtaking Bay of Fires (Larapuna), where we stroll along the pristine white sands of Cosy Corner North. The striking contrast of turquoise waters against rust-coloured boulders creates a truly unforgettable scene. As evening falls, we arrive in Bicheno, the most picturesque coastal town on the East Coast, famous for its resident little penguins.
Day 5: Bicheno

Bicheno - Freycinet National Park - Eaglehawk Neck. Today we explore the coastal wonders of Freycinet National Park. The reserve offers everything from secluded bays and pristine beaches to lush forests and pink granite mountains.
We start our day at Honeymoon Bay, where the striking pink peaks of the Hazards Mountains rise majestically from the sea. A short walk to the Wineglass Bay Lookout rewards us with postcard-perfect views of the crescent white sands of Wineglass Bay.
Next, we journey to Cape Tourville, where we can enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the Tasman Sea and the rugged Freycinet coastline. As we continue our adventure southward, we witness the landscape transform as we approach the gateway to the Tasman Peninsula at Eaglehawk Neck. After a day filled with breathtaking natural beauty, we will then make our way to our accommodation for the night.
Day 6: Eaglehawk Neck

Eaglehawk Neck - Port Arthur - Richmond - Hobart. Our day starts with a visit to the geological marvel of the Tessellated Pavement at Eaglehawk Neck. Our exploration of the Tasman Peninsula continues at the Tasman Arch and Devil's Kitchen, both highlights of Tasman National Park.Next, we’ll get up close with Tasmanian devils and other native wildlife at a local sanctuary before stepping back in time at the Port Arthur Historic Site, an open-air museum renowned as Australia’s best-preserved convict settlement and a World Heritage Site. We can wander through the expansive gardens and historic convict buildings. Port Arthur was also the site of Australia's deadliest mass shooting in 1996, an event that led the authorities to end the right to bear arms across the country.Our journey concludes as we return to Hobart, making a final stop at the charming colonial village of Richmond, where we can explore its historic bridges and buildings before our adventure comes to an end.Tour drop off: You will be dropped at a location of your choosing in Hobart at around 17:30. Airport drop offs are also available on request, and must be communicated before your tour.
