Overall: A superb tour in a simply magical country. Great value for money with a varied and well paced itinerary.

12-Nov-2019

Overall: A superb tour in a simply magical country. Great value for money with a varied and well paced itinerary. Don’t hesitate, just book it. We just finished an amazingly varied 14-day tour of Japan. It was a combination of the 10-day + 4-day extension. Our guide Jack was brilliant: full of enthusiasm, working all hours to make sure everyone had a good time and able to herd everyone effectively so everything ran smoothly. Itinerary: Fast paced and varied. The 10-day component was with the large group (20-people), it filled the days without feeling boxed in twith activities or having empty days. You really do get to see a wide variety of what japan has to offer: big city and small towns. Our guide Jack, was able to get us up early to beat the rush of tourists in the more popular spots. The 4-day extension really added value: The temples and deers of Nara, the beauty and tranquility of a temple stay in Koya-san, the history of Hiroshima and views on Miyajima Island. These were quite different to the previous 10-days and well worth it. One lowlight here was the museum at Hiroshima, it was during school trip season and was so packed you couldn’t really see much (it was perhaps the only disappointment in the entire 2 weeks). Value for money: Could you do it yourself cheaper? Possibly. Would you be able to cram in and discover all the spots yourself? Unlikely. Compared to the other options, I looked at it was definitely good value, without aggressive cross-selling of add-ons. Accommodation: The accommodation was decent and in good locations. The temple stays on tatami mats were magical. Highlights: Almost too many to mention! The atmosphere of the rugby world cup. The street parties during Halloween. The thousands of instagrammable Red Tori Gates in Kyoto. Kendo lesson (combined with explanation of Japanese warrior code). Sushi making. The beauty and tranquility of the Koya-san cemetery. The craziness of Robot Restaurant and bizarre cuteness of the maid cafe. Perhaps most of all, the hospitality, quirkiness, respect and charm of the Japanese people.

I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone and everyone!

I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone and everyone! I had an amazing time and couldn't be happier that I decided to book with onelife. The tour has a great mixture of activities and sights to suit different peoples interests and gives you a real taste of the local culture. All the accommodations were great with all the amenities you need and lovely hosts. The tour guides are awesome, simple as that. They make everyone feel welcome and ensure any questions are answered and have plenty of great suggestions for things to do in any free time. I had a really great group of guests with me on the tour but the tours guides really just brought it all together and made us feel like a proper little family for the duration. Shout out to Mike for making the trip everything I hoped it would be and more. This has been my second tour with onelife and I will definitely be booking another!

Best tour I’ve ever been on, and I’ve been on a few.

26-Mar-2020

Best tour I’ve ever been on, and I’ve been on a few. If you want family for 2 weeks of your life while exploring the most mind blowing country, filling in as much as you can, these guys have got you covered. Our tour guides were truly amazing. Foody TJay, is super friendly and informative while chilled Mikey even accompanied us up a mountain on an impromptu hike. They went above and beyond especially given the ever changing situation with coronavirus, they kept us calm and helped us with everything we needed. I cannot thank them enough!

The 14 day itinerary was a perfect mix of vibrant modern city, traditional Japanese culture and nature.

02-Oct-2019

Had a truly amazing trip of a LIFETIME in Japan with One life. Japan is just one of a kind... a place that you have to visit to understand!! This tour covered so much in just 14 days, that I could never have done this myself. Early starts meant we avoided the other tourists at the famous attractions. It’s totally worth spending thay bit extra and doing the 14 day tour as this included some of my highlights of the whole trip. Adam was an amazing guide, so organized and very knowledgable about Japan, and he was great fun too (his only downfall was his dad jokes)! The 14 day itinerary was a perfect mix of vibrant modern city, traditional Japanese culture and nature. I loved every moment of the trip and will never forget this experience. Thank you again one life for my second different but equally incredible tour. Will be booking my next one very soon...

There isn't any better way to experience the unexplainable wonders of Japan than this.

16-Mar-2020

This tour is truly one of the best ways to experience all that Japan has to offer. With this group you get to experience many weird, surreal, and wonderful things that you might never have otherwise gotten the chance to when traveling alone, and it is more relaxing knowing that you do not need to worry about any of the technicalities or stress of your trip. One thing I must mention is tours such as this are a bit better suited for those who are more extroverted which I did not know going into it, however, I had a lot of fun in every activity I took part in despite being introverted. This is the type of tour where to make the most of it, don't treat the guide as just a guide to show you around. For the time you are on the One Life Adventure, the guide along with all your group-mates are all friends so take all the opportunities you can to have fun and enjoy each others company. What are you waiting for? Pack your bags and go! There isn't any better way to experience the unexplainable wonders of Japan than this.

One Life is an amazing company who include more activities/meals than any other small-group adventure company that I have ever been with before.

09-Nov-2019

Fantastic tour from start to finish. Huge variety of experiences - particularly if you do the Japan extension to include 14 days. Be aware that there is a LOT of walking and sometimes early starts. Don't take too much luggage - it is totally impractical and there are washing machines everywhere. (My bag weighed 11kgs and I still didn't wear everything!) Jack was the icing on the cake - his exceptional leadership skills, his organisation and people-skills enhanced the whole trip. One Life is an amazing company who include more activities/meals than any other small-group adventure company that I have ever been with before.

I loved every minute of it and couldn’t recommend this tour enough.

14-Mar-2020

Do it! The 14 Day Tour ticks all the boxes for what you would want to see and experience in Japan. From the busy cities like Tokyo and Osaka to the calm temple stays in Takayama and Koyasan there is something for everyone. I loved every minute of it and couldn’t recommend this tour enough.

This really was a once in a life time holiday for me.

18-Nov-2019

This really was a once in a life time holiday for me. I have been a bit obsessed with Japan for as long as I can remember so the place had a lot to live up to. From the moment we arrived in Tokyo to when I left in Osaka, Japan completely blew my mind. Jack was unbelievable with such love for what he does it was infectious. I did the 14 day tour which ended up only being a small handful of people and I'm sooooo glad I did. It's hard to point to one thing on the tour which stood out the most because there was just so much. Some huge things for me were all the shrines in Kyoto, the kendo class, and walking through the ancient cemetery in the forest of Koyasan. It was so magical that I felt like I was in a movie or something. Being able to go back to the temple, eat food in a little private room and then fall asleep listening to the sounds of the surrounding forest was truely special. If you are thinking about doing Japan with Onelife then do the longer tour if you can, you won't regret it

JayN

Great tour, arrived at popular tourist attractions at perfect times to avoid the crowds.

17-Nov-2019

Great tour, arrived at popular tourist attractions at perfect times to avoid the crowds. Good balance of free time to explore. Definitely would recommend exploring Japan through One Life Adventures.

Would definitely go on another One Life tour when given the opportunity.

16-Mar-2020

Absolutely amazing highly recommend. The guides, Mike and Tjay were friendly and amazing and done their best with the current situation, they are both just naturals and you wouldn’t think it was Tjay’s first tour, they just overall legends. This tour took you to see and do things you won’t think of doing in Japan and is the perfect tour for a solo traveller or anyone that wants to see Japan. Would definitely go on another One Life tour when given the opportunity.
