Tour Overview
This 10-day Annapurna Trek and Chitwan Jungle Safari combines two of Nepal's most famous destinations. The first part of the journey takes you through the breathtaking Himalayan Mountains within the Annapurna Conservation Area. The trek leads to Poon Hill, renowned for its stunning sunrise views over the snow-covered peaks. The second part of the adventure takes you to Chitwan National Park, one of Nepal's most visited parks. The park is home to more than 50 mammal species, 600 plant varieties, 526 birds, and 49 amphibians and reptiles. Highlights include sightings of the Royal Bengal tiger and the Asian one-horned rhinoceros in their natural habitat, along with various other wildlife such as monkeys, leopards, deer, and wild boar. This trek is among the most popular in Nepal and suits anyone with average fitness. The trek offers incredible views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, including Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Annapurna 1 (8,091m), Machapuchare (6,993m), and several others. The journey begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara and Nayapul. The trek starts by following the Modi Khola River and ascending through terraced rice fields. After reaching Tikhedhunga (1,570m), the trail continues to Birethanti and Ghorepani, where you can explore the local culture. In Chitwan National Park, you will experience the thrill of an elephant safari and a canoe ride on the Rapti River, spotting crocodiles and other aquatic life. A visit to Asia's only elephant breeding center offers an emotional encounter with mother elephants nurturing their young.
