Tour Overview

This 10-day Safari & Beach Holiday combines Kenya’s Lake Nakuru National Park, a treat for birdwatchers and a rhino sanctuary with the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve. Get the best of both worlds on this adventurous road and air trip. Your trip begins with a 2-hour drive northwest of Kenya’s capital, Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru is a bird and animal watchers’ haven. The Park has over 400 bird species. These include herons, pelicans, storks and the iconic African fish eagle. Lake Nakuru is also home to a vast number of mammals (56 species) including healthy population of the highly endangered rhino. The Park has four of the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino) except the Elephant. Expect to see tree-climbing Lions, Cheetahs, Python, Hyenas, Jackal, Rothschilds giraffe, zebra, hippo, impala, waterbuck, and plenty of baboons and monkeys. After a night in Lake Nakuru we get back on the road and make our way to our next game viewing destination in Kenya, the world-famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. We spend 3 nights in the Mara on morning and afternoon game drives in search of Africa’s Big Five and the plethora of other wildlife The Maasai Mara is home to the Masai giraffe, Baboons, Warthogs, Bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted Hyena, Topi, Impala, Hartebeests, Wildebeest, Elephants, Buffalos, Zebra, Hippo, Cheetah. The ultimate action here is without a doubt the annual wildebeest exodus, the Great Migration, in July and August when millions of these grazers move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October. Balloon trips are an entirely wonderful way of seeing the savannah plains teeming with wildlife. These Masai Mara balloon trips can be arranged at extra cost. After your game-viewing adventure in Masa Mara, we fly to Mombasa and spend the next four days enjoying the sunshine and the warm Indian Ocean at a beach resort near Mombasa, on the, coast of East Africa. Mombasa is the second biggest city in Kenya and boasts the largest port on the East African coastline. Relax on the sandy beaches and dip in the sea, taking it easy after our action-packed game viewing in Kenya’s finest wildlife areas. You can also enjoy optional (extra cost) activities and water sports in and around Mombasa, a chaotic melting pot of Indian, Arabic and African influences.

Amazing Destination

05-Jun-2024

We loved our time in Kenya. The Maasai Mara just had animals everywhere and has the Savannah look that I think most people outside of the continent imagine Africa. Amboseli has the view of Mount Kilimanjaro which is unparalleled by any other view. Lake Nakuru gives the best chance to see Rhinos and would probably interest bird watchers a lot (though Amboseli was really good too). We loved that we went during the low season when there were less tourists. It slowed us to get closer to animals. Diana was the best! Thanks to Royal Private Safaris!

Excellent Safari Experience

05-Jun-2024

I booked a trip with Royal Private Safaris. They did an excellent job. The trip to Kenya was very good. Hospitable people. I visited four national parks plus Diani beach. I saw all the Big Fives during the trip. It was an excellent trip overall and enjoyed my stay in Kenya

The most beautiful country and the friendliest people in the world

05-Jun-2024

This was my fourth trip to Africa and my 3rd to Kenya using Royal Private Safaris as our ground handlers. But it was a first both for my husband and my daughter. I always wanted to share the vast, untouched beauty of Africa with them. I wanted them to see the friendliness, sweetness of people. These words actually cannot even begin to describe Kenya. Now both my husband and my daughter know what I tried to describe, and they already miss Kenya. We will be back for sure

It was simply beautiful

05-Jun-2024

We really enjoyed the tour. The vastness of the parks was impressive. There was something to discover everywhere. The landscape alone was fantastic. Watching the animals made it even more exciting. Our driver Jeremy was very friendly and drove us safely through the areas. We met a lot of elephants, which was exciting because they were very close to each other. We will have fond memories of the safari.

Amazing 10 days in Kenya!

05-Jun-2024

Kenya has my heart forever - I’d go back to visit it each year if possible, it has everything: scenic landscapes, the friendliest people, delicious food, wildlife, gorgeous sunsets and the best beaches- it’s difficult to put it into words to describe its beauty. Thank you once again to Royal Private Safaris for your cooperation and assistance. I look forward to my next visit.
