Tour Overview

Lake Bogoria is a shallow saline water lake located 25 km south of Lake Baringo. Lake Bogoria National Reserve is the home of Africa's most magnificent antelope, the greater kudu, and of other savannah wildlife. Animals include Zebra, impala, Grant's gazelle, Klipspringer, buffalo, dik dik and Patas monkey, among others. Predators include the leopard, cheetah, hyena, mongoose, jackal, and Karakul cat. Lake Bogoria National Reserve has 135 species of birds. This is in addition to more than 310 residents and 50 migratory species of birds - 374 bird species have been recorded. In the recent past, it has become the most stable home of the lesser flamingo with a population approaching two million birds. The Lake Nakuru National Park - renowned as a bird sanctuary with over 400 bird species, including huge flocks of flamingoes and many other water birds. Lake Nakuru is home to many animals such as hippo, waterbuck, warthog, impala, buffalo, Rothschild giraffe, elands, and both the endangered black and white rhino. The Masai Mara Game Reserve is Kenya's most famous and finest game sanctuary. In the months of August and September each year, the wildebeests in their troops arrive at the Kenyan border, ready to cross the steep banks of the broad and fast-flowing Mara River. This crossing is truly the greatest episode of the entire migration. Hot on their heels are the predators of the savannah - lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena, and vultures.

Kenya Wildlife Safari

02-Nov-2021

I visited Kenya between 21 Feb 2020 and 29 Feb 2020 The whole trip was very enjoyable, with some excellent wildlife sightings, good accommodation and delicious food. It met all our hopes and expectations for going out on foot, driving after dark and generally being flexible with the activities on offer. As Oliver Twist might say, please can we do it some more? The service was more than satisfactory, thanks to the team of safari experts at Royal Private Safaris! -Michelle Martini

December 2021 Kenya Safari

11-Feb-2022

Kenya was the most genuine, helpful, kind, place I have ever visited. It was like stepping into another world. Everyone was wonderful; Kenya has definitely taken conservation and hospitality to the next level. I believe that Kenya is the best place to visit in all of Africa. Definitely something that nature lovers have to put on their bucket list. When Isaac organized this trip, he used the word "bespoke". We had no idea what that meant. We do now and will be forever grateful. He did an amazing job. I have done planned tours before where I felt that I could have planned the same trip and saved money. But on this one, I was quite certain that I could never have done what Isaac did, and it was absolutely magical. I highly recommended Royal Private Safaris! -Dave Henry

Exploring Masai Mara

15-Jun-2018

We have travelled to the Maasai Mara National Reserve several times. But this was the first time that we were using Royal Private Safaris! Our experience was extremely positive. Everything was very well-organised and effectively executed. The arrangements on the ground were flawless. This made for a relaxing and worry-free trip. We would definitely book with Royal Private Safaris again!

Our dream come true safari!

19-Dec-2021

We visited Kenya between 4th Dec 2020 and 19th Dec 2020. Our trip to Africa was truly a dream come true! We planned this trip two years in advance, and due to Covid-19 needed to replan the trip again, with endless back and forth to ensure we got the itinerary to a place that met the regulations and restrictions of each country. Our trip exceeded every expectation, and while we initially thought it was going to be a once in a lifetime trip, we are already talking about when we will return. Isaac helped to organise the trip and make the endless changes for us. Overall, the trip was one we will never forget, and we are beyond grateful to Isaac and Royal Private Safaris for all of their assistance in planning. I am currently working as a medical volunteer in rural Kenya for two months thereafter I intend to do another safari before I travel back to Australia. -Rachel Robinson

Masai Mara National Reserve

16-Sep-2021

We had another terrific time in early February 2020 despite the weather being a lot wetter than we had imagined for the time of year. The fact that we had some superb sightings is very much down to the expertise of the guides employed by Royal Private Safaris. The Lodge was excellent and provided exactly what we expected, comfortable & fantastic food!! Many thanks to Isaac and Sarah for yet again putting together an excellent trip in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. -Nabuso Vivian
