Tour Overview
Enjoy a Christmas break on the Dorset coast, staying in beautiful Weymouth. A visit to Dorchester is also included, plus a traditional Christmas lunch and nightly entertainment.
Itinerary
Day 1
Local departure by coach, then on to Weymouth and our hotel for four nights.
Mince pies, tea and coffee on arrival, then a chance to settle into your room, get to know the hotel and staff, or relax in the lounge. This evening, enjoy a pre-dinner Buck's Fizz reception followed by dinner and entertainment.
Day 2 Christmas Eve In Dorchester
Location: Christmas Eve in Dorchester
Today we visit Dorchester, the county town of Dorset and a historic market town. Fans of the acclaimed poet and writer Thomas Hardy will be aware of the town’s connection, with it featuring as ‘Casterbridge’ in many of his works, and with Hardy’s birthplace located on the outskirts of Dorchester in Higher Bockhampton. Shoppers may prefer to browse the central pedestrianised area with its arcades of shops, whilst history-lovers may prefer a visit to the Dorset County Museum or the Keep Military Museum.
If you choose to spend the day in the hotel instead, why not enjoy afternoon tea around 3pm with a game of Bingo to while away the afternoon. Later this evening enjoy dinner and fabulous live entertainment.
Day 3 Christmas Day At Leisure
Location: Christmas Day at leisure
Merry Christmas! Relax in Weymouth, open some presents, tuck into a traditional turkey dinner, and enjoy the festive atmosphere in the hotel with your fellow travellers. This afternoon why not watch the King's speech, enjoy an afternoon tea and play prize bingo. Tonight there will be a Gala buffet with more entertainment.
Day 4 Boxing Day In Isle Of Purbeck And Swanage
Location: Boxing Day in Isle of Purbeck and Swanage
This morning we take a jaunt to the Isle of Purbeck, passing through quaint Corfe Castle to reach seaside Swanage. Here there’s a lovely, sandy beach and lots of attractions, such as the Swanage Museum which tells the story of the area from the Jurassic period to WWII.
There will be another afternoon tea this afternoon in the hotel, followed by a final dinner and evening of entertainment.
Day 5
We depart the hotel this morning, filled with magical Christmas memories, and return home.
Accommodation
You will stay for four nights at the either the Prince Regent or Russell Hotel in Weymouth
