8 Days Helambu trek starts just one hour drive from Kathmandu at the beautiful Shivapuri National Park. Helambu trek relatively low altitude trek along a less-crowded trekking route through the alpine-tropical forest, green valleys, rhododendron, Tamang and Sherpa villages, and Buddhist monasteries. The views of the Himalayas are magnificent and including Mt. Langtang, Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Ganesh Himal, Rolwaling, and Mt. Gauri Shankar. With the highest point of this trek being Tharepati Pass at 3,650m with its stunning views of Dorje Lakpa, Gauri Shankar, Langsisa and other snow-capped mountains and with the warmer climate; grassy meadows; atmospheric forests; beautiful rivers and friendly people, It is a stunning trek for those with less time or do not prefer to trek at high altitudes. Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m) & transfer to hotel.
Location: Kathmandu

As you arrive at Kathmandu Airport (Tribhuvan International Airport), finish your custom formalities (visa, etc.), and get to the airport waiting terminal, you will find Sherpa Expedition and Trekking representative waiting to greet you. He/she will be holding Sherpa Expedition and Trekking signboard. You will be then transferred to your hotel in our private tourist vehicle. Day 2 : Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal & trek to Chisapani (2300m) Duration: 4-5 hours.

Today, after breakfast, we start our journey to Sundarijal (1350m.) by private car for about one hour and trek to Chisapani (2300m) which takes about 4 hours. The trail will enter through the Shivapuri National Park Watershed and Wildlife Reserve. The first settlement we will come across is Mulkharka with Tamang inhabitants. The trail heads down the ridge through a forest of oaks and rhododendron to Chisapani. We stay overnight at Chisapani.
Day 3 : Trek from Chisapani to Kutumsang (2446m) Duration: 6-7 hours.

Leaving Chisapani, we start our trek to Kutumsang which takes about six to seven hours. The trail continues to drop from Chisapani in an easy way, a trail that crosses meadow and fields. we will then trek down through Pathi Bhanjyang till Gul Bhanjyang. Then after we will climb the ridge from Gul Bhanjyang to another pass at 2620m. The meadow makes a good camping spot, its downhill trek to Kutumsang at 2470m, in a saddle atop the ridge. We will spend our night at Kutumsang.
Day 4 : Trek from Kutumsang to Tharipati (3650m) Duration: 5-6 hours.
Location: Tharipati

Leaving Kutumsang, we trek to Tharipati which takes about five to six-hour hours. The trek continues north up the Yurin Danda ridge and affords views of the mountains. We will climb above Kutumsang on a steep, eroded trail mostly through fir and rhododendron forest where there are no permanent settlements. Now we will be in Tharipati. We stay overnight at Tharipati.
Day 5 : Trek from Tharipati to Tarkeghyang (2743m) Duration: 5-6 hours.
Location: Tarkeghyang

From Tharipati, we trek to reach Tarkeghyang and it takes about 6 hours. The first part of the trek descends until we cross the stream named Melamchi. from here we trek gently up to Tarkeghyang passing through Sherpa village. This village is a beautiful Sherpa village with one of the oldest and biggest Buddhist monasteries. Tarkeghyang, also known as Helambu is named after the Helmu caste. We stay overnight at Tarkeghyang.
Day 6 : Trek from Tarkeghyang to Shermathang (2621m) Duration: 4-5 hours.
Location: Shermanthang

Leaving Tarkeghyang we trek to Shermathang it takes about five hours. Today the trail is quite easier through flat land with beautiful dense forests on the way. we trek on crossing some small streams on the trail. There is situated a beautiful village on our trail to Shermathang. we can enjoy here, Shermathang is another pretty Sherpa village where we can visit many ancient monasteries. we stay overnight at Shermanthang.
Day 7 : Trek from Shermathang to Melamchi Pul Bazaar & drive to Kathmandu (1350) Duration: 6-7 hours.
Location: Kathmandu

Leaving Shermanthang, We will trek down to Melamchi Pul which takes about four hours. With many Sherpa villages and take Jeep/car to Katmandu. Congratulations on the completion of your trek. This evening by Sherpa Expedition and Trekking provide you farewell dinner. We stay overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 8 - Final Departure Day.

A representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking Team will take you to the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. we hope this trek has been your cherishable memory. We will send you off with hopes to meet again.

What types of liquid do I need to drink at high altitude?
Garlic soup is a must while trekking. Sherpa Expedition and Trekking recommend trekkers to drink green tea, lemon tea, hot lemon ginger tea and drink at least 2-4 liters of water a day. However, it is better to avoid alcohol and alcoholic beverages, caffeinated items, and hot-chocolates at high altitude.

Can I get Nepal visa on arrival or online?
Yes, you can get on arrival tourist visa at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Most of the people can obtain visa on entry to Nepal. There are some countries visa will need to be organised prior to travelling. $30 USD for 15 days of visa from the date of issue, $50 USD for 30 days and $125 USD for 90 days tourist visa.You can apply visa online.
