Embark this Island peak Climbing in the Khumbu region that gives you an opportunity to experience that trekking and peak climbing. Island Peak or (Imja Tse) in the Imja valley of Everest area is the most achievable climbing peak without having prior mountaineering experience. Join Sherpa Expedition and Trekking 19 Days Island Peak Climbing guided trip that covers Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and Island Peak (6,189m). You can see the soaring high mountains and get the opportunity to summit a peak yourself. Begin this exciting trip with a 35-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla which is the main gateway to Everest. Trek to Everest Base Camp via Namche Bazaar, Pheriche, Lobuche, and other popular destinations in the Everest region. Summit the base camp on Day 9 and enjoy a sunrise view of the Himalayas from Kala Patthar the next morning. Then after back to Chukhung via Kongma la Pass and follow the trail to Island Peak Base Camp that takes us through the moraines of Imja and Lhotse glaciers. Summit Island Peak on Day 13. We can see some of the highest peaks in the world in front of us before heading down to Base Camp. This Peak is one of the most famous peaks among hikers. it was named (Imja Tse) Island Peak in 1953 due to its appearance as an island adrift on a sea of ice. Although physically challenging, this peak is not technically demanding and can be enjoyed by both novice and experienced mountaineers. Trek down to Chhukung, Pangboch, Tengboche, and take the trail to Namche Bazaar, the center of trade in the Khumbu region. We will catch the flight to Kathmandu from Lukla on Day 18 of this trip. Day 1 : Arrival In Kathmandu (1,350M) Transfer To Hotel.

Upon arrival in the country of the Himalayas and ancient culture, you will be warmly greeted by our Sherpa Expedition and Trekking team at the airport. Later, you will be relocated by our representatives at the hotel in Thamel. Today no further activities.
Day 2 : Fly From Kathmandu To Lukla & Trek To Phakding (2640M) Duration: 4-5 Hours.

We will take a morning flight to Lukla. This short scenic flight will be so dramatic while flying over the city of Kathmandu, green hills, and high mountain peaks. Lukla is the main gateway to Everest Base Camp. After reaching Lukla you will Trek to Phakding village is easy through gradual up down trails. Overnight stay in a local teahouse.
Day 3 : Trek From Phakding To Namche Bazaar (3440M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

After having breakfast you will trek against the current of Dudh Koshi river, suspension bridges, pine forest, Bhotekoshi river, impressive view of Mt. Thamserku, and neighboring peaks are the goosebumps factors of this section. Form some points, you can see the window view of Mount Everest through Nuptse and Lhotse ridge. You will enjoy the exciting uphill walk and stay overnight in a local teahouse of Namche bazaar.
Day 4 - Acclimatzation Day At Namche Bazaar & Hike To Everest View Hotel; Duration: 4-5 Hours.

Today is acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. This will help your body to adapt to this high altitude and prevent any possible AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). During the day stay active, roam around the beautiful town and explore their lifestyle. In the alternate, you can even hike to Everest view hotel and Khumjung village. overnight at Namche Bazaar.
Day 5 : Trek From Namche To Tengboche (3860M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

After having breakfast we will head to Tengboche. Tengboche is one of the biggest and oldest Sherpa settlements in the Khumbu region. To get to this majestic village, you will be trekking through the bank of Dudh Koshi river, Imja Khola valley, and lush rhododendron and conifers forest. This area is a natural home of spotted dear, Pheasant (Nepal’s national bird), Himalayan Thar, and many endangered birds and animals. Tengboche has Tengboche Monastery which is considered to be located at the highest elevation (3,860m) in the world.we will stay at a local teahouse.
Day 6 : Trek From Tengboche To Dingboche (4410M) Duration: 4-5 Hours.

Today is yet another exciting part of the journey as we trek with a close-up view of Mt. Ama Dablam (6,856m). People call it the most beautiful mountain in the world. You enjoy the view, see Mani walls, Nunnery and Chortens while passing through Debuche, Pangboche village, and the stream of Imja Khola. Your Sherpa guide will explain to you the values and believes of local religious monuments. You will stay in a local lodge of Dingboche.
Day 7 - Acclimatization Day At Dingboche

Today is the perfect scheduled destination included in the itinerary for acclimatization before ascending to the higher elevation above 4,000m. Today your guides arrange a short hike in Chhukung valley to adjust the AMS or thin air for next day trek. In the early morning, we trace the north ridge of Dingboche and climb the Nangkar Tshang Peak (5,616m/18,425ft). On the halfway to the peak, there is a popular Nangkar Tshang gompa which is the best spot for short rest and exploration. The short hike today offers the magnificent view of glorious mountains like Makalu (8,463m), Lhotse (8,516m), Cho Oyo (8,201m), and Ama Dablam (6,856mt). Finally, after the hike, we return back to Dingboche and enjoy the late sun in the summer valley. You will stay at Dingboche at teahouse.
Day 8 : Trek From Dingboche To Lobuche (4,910M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

After having breakfast we trek for six-hour to reach Lobuche, the trail climbs up to Yak pastures of Dusa and Dughla villages and the terminal moraine of Khumbu glacier. Take a short, steep hike to Chukpo Lari, a memorial place made in tribute to climbers who have died on Everest. Enjoy a panoramic view of Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori, Khumbutse, and many others. you will stay in Lobuche at teahouse.
Day 9 : Trek From Lobuche To Gorak Sherp-Everest Base Camp (5,364M) And Back To Gorak Shep (5,100M) Duration: 8-9 Hours.

Today is a very long day but a breathtaking day as you hike to Everest Base camp. The most iconic base camp in the world. Hike along the barren moraine of Khumbu Glacier until Gorak Shep; our night stay destination for tonight. We will settle our bags in a chosen lodge at Gorak Shep, take lunch, and continue for Everest Base Camp. The impressive visualization of towering peaks all over 360-degree is so unexplainable. If you are trekking in spring and autumn, you will see many camps of Everest climbers in Base Camp. Capture this immense beauty in your mind and camera. Walk around and return back to Gorak Shep for overnight stay.
Day 10 : Hike To Kala Patthar (5545M) And Back To Lobuche.

Today, In the pre-dawn darkness and cold temperatures (-10 to -14 C) and potentially cold winds, we head off on today’s trek witnessing spectacular views of the towering peaks of Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse in the east. It is not until we reach Kala Patthar that we have a panoramic 360-degree view – including the in-your-face view of Everest. This is a photographer's dream come true! Tonight we sleep well and rest in Lobuche. Meals - breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 11 : Trek From Lobuche To Kongma La (5,535M) To Chhukung (4,730M) Duration: 8-9 Hours.

Once again, after breakfast, we trek via Khumbu through ice masses to Kongma La Base Camp at (5,000m/16,404ft). This section of our ascent to Kongma La pass is probably the most difficult part of our trek. Along the way, there are many rock cairns draped in prayer flags marking the pass. On our decent, we trek through Imja Khola where water from the slopes of Everest collects. After passing through this valley we descend to Chhukung a quaint summer settlement. After reaching Chhukung your guide will check his instruments and our equipment before our final climb to Chhukung. Instead of taking the route through Kongma La pass, we may take an alternative route via Dingboche to Chhukung. Meals - Breakfast, lunch & dinner.
Day 12 : Trek From Chhukung To Island Peak Base Camp (5200M) Duration: 4-5 Hours.

Leaving Chhukung, we will follow the trail to Island Peak Base Camp. Trekking through the moraines of Imja and Lhotse glaciers before reaching Island Peak Base Camp, located on the southwestern side of the peak. We can do some pre-climb training in the base camp in the afternoon.
You can Learn mountaineering techniques and familiarize yourself with gear and equipment required for the ascent. Make your climbing skills to test on a rock surface and hike around the base camp. We will stay overnight at a tent.
Day 13 : Base Camp To Island Peak Summit (6189M) & Back To Base Camp; Duration: 7-9 Hours.

Today, we start your climb early in the morning to avoid strong winds in the afternoon. Ascend gradually over grassy hills. The track gets rocky and narrow as we head closer to the summit. We can enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding areas from the peak before making your way down the base camp. We will spend our night at Tent camp.
Day 14 - Reserve Day In Case Of Bad Weather

Today is reserve day at Base Camp. In case you were unable to summit Island Peak yesterday due to bad weather or other unfavorable conditions, you will attempt it today. In case everything goes as planned, you are free today. We will spend our night at a tent camp.
Day 15 : Trek From Island Peak To Pangboche (3,900M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

Leaving Base Camp, we will trek back to Pangboche passing through Orsho and Shomare. Explore the oldest monastery in the Everest region before reaching Pangboche. We will stay overnight at Pangboche.
Day 16 : Trek From Pangboche To Namche (3440M0 Duration: 5-6 Hours.

After breakfast, we will trek downhill to reach Phunki Tenga. Follow the thundering Dudh Kosi River to reach Kyangjuma via Sansa. Today's trek ends in Namche Bazaar, where we will stay overnight.
Day 17 : Trek From Namche To Lukla (2840M) Duration: 7-8 Hours.

We have an early start today. We will trek through local Sherpa villages enjoy beautiful sceneries along the way. Reach Lukla in the evening. In the evening we will celebrate together with our Sherpa team for successful Island Peak Climbing.
Day 18 : Fly From Lukla To Kathmandu (1350M) Duration: 30 Minutes Flight.

Today after breakfast, we will catch the plane a flight to Kathmandu in the morning. Sherpa Expedition and Trekking representative will transfer you to your hotel upon arrival in the city. Enjoy a traditional farewell dinner in the evening.

Today is the end of the beautiful Island Peak Climbing Journey. Sherpa Expedition and Trekking Team’s representative will take you to the airport 3 hours prior to your flight. We bid farewell as you take heaps of memories and happiness back to your home.

Sherpa Expedition & Trekking requires a minimum deposit of 30% or the full booking value, whichever is less, with the final balance not due until 30 days before departure.
