Tour Overview
The Tamang Heritage and Langtang Valley trek begins by driving from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi and runs through the beautiful forest and lush Langtang Valley with stunning views of Langtang and Mt. Ganesh Himal. All villages on the trail are occupied by Tamang people, closely related to Tibetans, and so the culture is Buddhist with a good scattering of prayer wheels, Mani wall, chortens, Buddhist prayer flags and mani stones along with the route. Although Located in a district badly hit by the 2015 earthquake, Tamang heritage trail was hardly affected at all and reopened to trekkers three months after the earthquake and remains an area of outstanding natural beauty and culture. Although, the trail takes in Tatopani where there used to be warm hot springs. The hot springs have disappeared after the 2015 earthquake. The trek trail lies in what was previously a restricted area close to the Tibet border and was being to trekkers lately. The Tamang people in this region have a culture, tradition, and religion that goes back two hundreds of years, and the craftsmanship, dress, and stone-mud houses are testimony of this ancient background. Also, in Kyanjin Gompa where their atmosphere is serene as only a Buddhist monastery can be, and where the amazing Himalayas views cannot help but add immensely to the experience! Our Tamang Heritage and Langtang Valley Trek interesting drive lead us to Dhunche town (headquarter of Rasuwa district), Syabru Besi, and through rural farm villages before ending at Kathmandu after a memorable time in the cultural and ancient Tamang Heritage and Langtang Valley Trek and in the laps of high Central Himalaya with Sherpa Expedition and Trekking Team.
