Tour Overview

This route is located from south east of Mount Kilimanjaro and beginnings with short drive from Moshi town to Marangu gate. This Is the oldest and well-established route with its nickname of Coca-Cola route which derived from the fact of being the only route people sleep in the hut instead of tents as other route. Marangu route is considered as the easiest route on Mount Kilimanjaro due to its gradual slope, although in the real fact should not be considered as the fact of truth and despise the necessary required preparation. This route has its own test of adventure, scenery, and challenge and in contrary to other route, it offers a comfort sleep in the shared mountain hut with solar light and comfortable sponge mattress. The uniqueness of the route is that it is the only route where client will get time to visit Zebra rocks located close to mawenzi peak. The trek uses the same route for hiking up and down and offer a great view and panoramic vistas. This hike can be climbed in five days, although at Spider Tours And Safaris, we recommend a 6 days hike with better acclimatization at Horombo hut with Zebra rock visit. Our success rate is 95% on this route. ...more ...less

MOUNT KILIMANJARO CLIMBING VIA MARANGU ROUTE 5 DAY TANZANIA

18-Aug-2022

AMAZING!! Could not have asked for a better group of guides than Mtey, Masu and Bruno and the awesome porters as well. So excited that our group of 6 all made it up together and just as the sun was rising. The many environments you pass along the way on this route make it both interesting as well as beautiful. Food was great, guides were knowledgeable and helpful. We made it to the summit on my 30th birthday and when we got back down they had a cake waiting for me!!! Great experience and trip. Highly recommend spider tours and safaris. They organized and took care of everything! ...more ...less

I want to start by saying that if you are somewhat skeptical of all the top rated reviews of spider tours and safaris, please don't be. These are thoroughly well deserved and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone wishing to climb Kilimanjaro. spider tours and safaris consider every aspect of the climb; Prior to the trip any questions that were raised were answered fully and had a very quick response time. At the hotel our guides Rama, Mousa and Simon carefully inspected our kit and discussed our itinerary. ...more ...less

MOUNT KILIMANJARO CLIMBING VIA MARANGU ROUTE 5 DAY TANZANIA

18-Aug-2022

We were a group of 4 who decided to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. After a bit of research we decided which route we wanted to take: 5 day marangu (great pick!) and then later came across the company spider tours and safaris browsing on different websites. They prepared everything to perfection, the whole team was really nice and made sure we all got to the summit (which we did, all 4 of us!). brian and his team cared a lot for the details: good hot food 3 times a day, tents ready when arrived to the camps, they even took time to dry our shoes before summiting which really helped! ...more ...less

MOUNT KILIMANJARO CLIMBING VIA MARANGU ROUTE 5 DAY TANZANIA

18-Aug-2022

My daughter and I chose to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro via the 5-day marangu route to give us the most time to acclimate to the altitude, since neither of us had been at extreme altitude before. We also wanted to use a Tanzanian company and spider tours and safaris was a terrific choice. brian, the owner, was on top of every detail and was very helpful answering questions via email very promptly. He runs his business professionally, and the staff, guides, cooks and porters are the best in the business. Our guides, Rama and Joseph, were both skilled, knowledgeable and fun. The food was excellent, prepared by our cook, Said, and the porters were amazing. We would not have made the summit and back down the difficult descent if not for the patience and efforts of these extraordinary men. We left Tanzania with an unforgettable experience and the lifelong friendship of everyone at spider tours and safaris. ...more ...less
