Day 1 : Boston

Location: Boston, Boston

Accommodation: Hostel

Accommodation Name: Boston HI Hostel

Welcome to the USA and the start of your East Coast America Tour! After spending the morning at your own leisure in Boston, you’ll meet your Adventure Leader and the rest of your group at the entrance of HI Boston hostel in the afternoon. Here, you’ll meet your new travel buddies and get a trip briefing, where you’ll learn about the forthcoming adventures and how to stay safe in America.

After that, it’s time for your first adventure – a walk along the city’s iconic, 2.5 mile-Freedom Trail, connecting 16 nationally significant historic sites. Along the way, you’ll see sights like the Park Street Church, Boston Common – America’s oldest public path -Faneuil Hall, and the North End – AKA, the famous ‘Little Italy’, before stopping off to try a world-famous cannoli from Mike’s Pastry.

We’ll then ride the T (Boston’s subway) to Fenway Park, for an unforgettable tour of Fenway Park itself – home of the Red Sox. Should we be lucky enough to visit when the home team is in town, the tour of the park will be replaced with tickets to an actual Red Sox game (around 50% of the time)!

After, the night is yours for you and your fellow travellers to enjoy as you wish. Why not stay in Fenway and enjoy an evening at a vintage mod bowling spot? Or head to a bar for some free live stand-up comedy – there’s plenty to choose from!

Day 2 : New York

Location: New York, New York

Accommodation: Hostel

Accommodation Name: HI New York City Hostel

We’re up and out early this morning to board the bus to our next destination on this USA East Coast Tour – New York! Once we’ve arrived, we’ll board the subway to the HI New York Hostel to check in.

From there, it’s off for your first rip-roaring adventure in New York, which is an unforgettable speed boat ride on “The Beast”. We’ll jet out into New York Harbor and head towards the iconic Statue of Liberty, so get ready to wave hello to Lady Liberty herself!

Back on dry land, it’s time for some food! What better place to stop than at Chelsea Market – famed for its wide range of cuisine from seafood and tacos to sushi and artisanal baked goods! You won’t know where to start (we never do)!

Come evening, it’s time to head to the top of one of New York’s tallest buildings – the Rockefeller Centre. Located on the 70th floor, the Top of the Rock (get it 😉) will have your jaw-dropping with stunning 360-degree views of the Big Apple. Afterwards, the night is yours and we suggest heading to Times Square, where you can shop ‘til you drop, sight-see, or simply bask in the bright lights of this incredible location.

Day 3 : New York

Location: New York, New York

Accommodation: Hostel

Accommodation Name: HI New York City Hostel

Today starts with a peaceful stroll through Central Park. Enjoy the stunning greenery, sculptures, and famous landmarks like Bethesda Fountain and Belvedere Castle, before embarking on a guided tour of the world’s finest art museums – the MET. This features incredible exhibits of ancient artefacts, Renaissance masterpieces, and modern art.

Swiftly after, you’ll embark on the No Sleep ‘Til Brooklyn tour where you’ll be able to lap up the sights of Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and more! After grabbing lunch with a view at Timeout Market, you’ll then head across the Brooklyn Bridge to learn more about its fascinating history.

After, we’ll walk through the Upper East before hopping on board a scenic ferry to Williamsburg – a hipster hot spot famous for street art, vintage stores, outdoor bars, and more!

The rest of the evening is yours to do as you wish. Why not spend your evening at the theatre, with a visit to world-famous Broadway? Or pay your respects at the 9/11 Memorial? Or pass the time with a visit to one of New York’s many free events! Remember, this is your final night in NYC – so make it count!

Day 4 : Philadelphia

This morning, transfer from New York to Philadelphia by train. We thoroughly recommend picking up a cupcake to go from Magnolia Bakery if you fancy yourself something sweet.

Arrive at the Apple Hostel and prepare yourself for the group meal of a lifetime – a legendary Philly Cheesesteak! After, take a rest (you’ll need it) in the hostel’s great common areas or opt to take a short stroll to see Liberty Bell and the Declaration of Independence.

Come evening, you’ll have a chance to grab those Insta-worthy snaps on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, made famous in the Rocky movies, before heading on to the hip district of Fishtown for a night out!

Day 5 : Washington Dc

Location: Washington, Washington

Accommodation: Hostel

Accommodation Name: Washington DC U Street Hostel

We’re up and out early this morning, ready to visit stop number 4 on this East Coast America Tour – Washington DC, the nation’s capital! You’ll travel by train (roughly 100 minutes) and arrive in the early afternoon – just in time for lunch! We’ll check into the U-Street Hostel and then head out to see the best of DC on a whole-day Washington Revelations walking tour!

See the city’s iconic sites, including the United States Capitol, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, the Washington Monument, The Whitehouse, and World War II, Lincoln, and Martin Luther King Jr. Memorials.

After, you best believe that we’re taking you and your travel buddies to grab the best chilli in the city… but if you don’t believe us, take President Obama’s word for it! Ben’s Chilli Bowl gives you a true taste of the delicious foodie scene that Washington has to offer.

It’s then time to spend your last night on the East Coast in style! If you’d like, why not grab a seat and a great drink in the Adams Morgan neighbourhood? Or, if there’s some life left in your feet, head to the vibrant U Street to explore the nightlife.

Day 6 : Farewell!

I would 100% recommend using this company again. The new America tours are just starting out, so there were a few hiccups but was easily resolved and wasn’t always the company’s fault.
