In the afternoon, join a small group tour to have a quick introduction to the city (the tour starts at 15.00 hrs). The tour begins by visiting the main attractions of the old town such as the Basilica of Saint Nicholas with its precious Crypt, the ancient Cathedral of Saint Sabinus and the millenary Swabian Castle. The tour goes on walking along the authentic narrow streets, where old ladies still make pasta by hand, kids play outdoors and people cook on every corner. The tour ends unraveling some anecdotes about the modern French part of the city with opera theaters, luxury shopping streets, the famous fish market on the seaside and the lively squares where a taste of local products is not to be missed. After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll enjoy an archaeological small group tour of Bari. Discover the most important museum excavations in the city of Bari. This tour itinerary unites the ‘new city’ and the ‘old city’ which conceals numerous hidden treasures. During the visit you will discover the church of Santa Teresa dei Maschi as well as the Palazzo Simi - Centro Operativo per l’Archeologia. Inside the Palazzo Simi you will take part in a guided tour to see excavations of a small Byzantine church as well as rooms displaying other archaeological finds. Afterwards, you will be taken to the so-called ‘Isolato 49’, which opens out onto San Sabino Road. It is a complex of medieval houses that preserves - almost in its entirety - the ancient construction of the buildings. After a complete tour of the Succorpo of the Cathedral of San Sabino (underground part) and a walk along the walls of the old town, your experience will come to an end visiting the ruins of the church of Santa Maria del Buon Consiglio. Enter the ancient village, and discover the narrow alleys of this little square; one of the most picturesque places of the old city.

When and how will I receive the travel documents (vouchers)?

This means that for these tours we reserve the right to check the availability of your spot(s) with the Tour Operator before confirming the tour to you. As soon as you submit the payment online for a 'on request' tour you will receive an email notification that confirms your order request. Today Voyages requires a minimum deposit of 30% or the full booking value, whichever is less, with the final balance not due until 30 days before departure.

Up to 60 days before tour starts: Forfeit 100% of deposit.
At 30 days before tour starts: Forfeit 50% of booking price.
