Tour Overview
The Annapurna Base Camp or Annapurna Sanctuary trek is a classic and scenic trek in Nepal. The trek passes through spectacular landscapes, charming Gurung and Magar villages, colorful Rhododendron-filled pathways, lush green bamboo forests, and alpine forests. The Annapurna Base Camp trek offers it all, culminating at an elevation of 4130m, allowing you to experience peace and the beauty of the mighty Annapurna mountains. The Annapurna range in Nepal consists of mountain ranges with over sixteen peaks over 6000m. In Nepal, Annapurna is believed to be the avatar of Parvati, the wife of Lord Shiva. The literal meaning of "Annapurna" translates to "give" or "full." The entire range is protected in the Annapurna Conservation Area, Nepal's first and largest conservation area. The trek to Annapurna is considered one of the best in the world, offering views of the transition from green hills with waterfalls to jungles, and eventually to barren rocky cliffs and the snow-clad Annapurna ranges. ...more ...less
