This 17 Day Nar Phu Valley Trek is an exotic journey along the north side of Annapurna, to visit the hidden valley of Nar Phu. The highlights of this hidden valley trek include; excellent views of high Himalayas peaks, ancient villages of medieval Tibetan culture, the popular Tashi Lakhang Monastery, and visiting high alpine valleys. This trek being from Bhulbhule, which lies along Annapurna Circuit route, and then leaves the main trail from the beautiful village of Koto to follow the less traveled trails to Phu and Nra valley. During this trek, we will explore the remote Himalayas valley trails in the north of Manang Valley and pass the Kang La pass (5320m) with magnificent views of the Annapurna massif. The Kang La pass connects Nar to Manang and Bhotia villages in the Neyshang valley. After Kangla Pass we follow the Annapurna Circuit trail to reach Thorong La Pass at 5416 m. Then we trek down to lower Mustang following the trails leading to holy Muktinath Temple before heading to Jomsom. Then we drive back to Kathmandu via Pokhara.

Day 1 : Arrival In Kathmandu (1,350M) & Transfer To Hotel.

Welcome to the country of the Himalayas. Welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. Uma Holidays Travels & Tours airport representative will be waiting for your arrival with a placard of our company outside the airport terminal. From the airport, you will be transferred to the hotel by a private tourist vehicle. Depending on your flight time and activities we will be joining for a cultural dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant. After enjoying a Nepalese dinner we head back to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2 : Drive From Kathmandu To Bhulbhule (8,40M) Duration: 7-8 Hours.

Your guide will pick up you from the hotel in the morning then we will drive to Machhapokhari Bus Park to catch our local bus to Bhulbhule. The drive to Bhulbhule is a scenic experience through small settlements around the sides of the Nepalese highway. The drive takes about 7 to 8 hours from Kathmandu. On the way to Bhulbhule, we will have the first glimpse of Mt. Himalchuli Peak. Passing through small villages like Samdi, Chanute, Sera, and Khudi we will reach a small town near the bank called Bhulbhule. overnight stay at the teahouse.
Day 3 : Trek From Bhulbhule To Chamje (1,430M) Duration: 6-7 Hours.

From Bhulbhule, we start our trek to Chamje. we will have a lunch at Bahundanda. we would trek along the steep and slippery trail running through paddy fields; trail ascends through the rhododendron forest to Chamje. overnight stay at the teahouse.
Day 4 : Trek From Bagarchhap To Koto (2,610M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.
Location: Koto

After having breakfast, We can visit the whitewashed monastery. Then we continue our walk till Danaque which takes about 20 minutes from Bagarchhap. The trail is steeply ascending up to Timang village. We have an excellent view of Mt. Manaslu and Peak 29 from the top. Then we continue the trek through pine forests again till Thanchok which takes about one and a half hours. We will have a Lunch here Then trek through forests whereby we have a short glimpse of Annapurna II. Finally, we arrive in Koto village. We spend our night at teahouse.
Day 5 : Trek From Koto To Meta (3,560M) Duration: 7-8 Hours.

From Koto, we register our restricted area permit at the Police Check Post, Koto. After that, we trek through the River bank of Soti Khola again through wonderful dense pine forests, streams and suspension and reach Dharamsala. We have our packed lunch on the way. We then continue walking through forests and ascend steeply towards Meta village. Finally, we arrive at the Tibetan Plateau where we have an excellent view of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. We will spend our night at Meta.
Day 6 : Trek From Meta To Phu Gaon (4,250M) Duration: 7-8 Hours.

Today, it is planned as exploration and acclimatization day whereby we are recommended to rest and get acclimatized with the high altitude. As we are in the Hidden Valley, we can visit the culture, natural diversity, and religious practices of the local people. Besides this, we can trace out how people make their survival depending on agriculture, animal breeding, and seasonal migrations in such a remote location or in the hidden valley.
Today is also the day for us to visit the Tashi Lakhang Monastery – the old Buddhist Monastery listed out of the 108 world’s great Buddhist Monasteries; it is supposed to be the last monastery constructed by Karmapa Rinpoche. Apart from exploring the cultural avenues of the lost valley, the valley also offers us an excellent view of Himlung Himal and other snow-capped peaks in the region. we stay overnight at Phu Gaon.
Day 7 : Trek From Phu To Nar Phedi (3,500M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

Today after breakfast we visit the Phu gaon, then we follow the trail that descends passing many streams and suspension bridges until Mahendra Pul which takes about 5 hours. We pass the high suspension bridge more than 70 meters over the Gorge of Lapche River. We will stop for lunch in Mahendra Pul. Many people continue to Nar which 2 hours from Mahendra Pul. We stay at monastic school at Nar Phedi. We will spend our night at Nar Phedi.
Day 8 : Trek From Nar Phedi To Nar Village (4,110M) Duration: 2 Hours.

Today is a very short day walk, the trail steeply passing through many Buddhist stupas until Nar Village which takes about two hours. We find several Buddhist Monasteries here to explore coupled with the glorious vistas of Pisang Peak and other small Himalaya peaks. Overnight in the lodge at Nar Village.
Day 9 : Trek To Ngwal (3,660M) Via Kang La Pass (5,320M)Duration: 7-8 Hours

Leaving Nar village, Today is daring day with a long day hike of 8 hours so we get up early in the morning and trek to Ngawal via Kangla Pass (5320m). From the pass, we can enjoy the view of Annapurna massif. We will spend some time at Pass and trek down to Nawal. we will spend our night at Ngawal village.
Day 10 : Trek From Ngawal To Manang (3,500 M) Duration: 4-5 Hours.

Today, The weather gets warmer and the greener landscape as we go down more than 2000m from the pass. Set off early for the last few hours of trekking to reach Manang where most of the trekkers hiking to Annapurna circuit halt for acclimatization. The trail is wide and pleasing. Stop for a quick snack in the village then walk to Manang. overnight stay at the teahouse.
Day 11 : Trek From Manang To Yak Kharka (4000M) Duration: 4-5 Hours.

Leaving Manang, We will cross a stream and climbs to a village of Tenki Manang continues to climb out of the Marshyangdi Valley turning northwest up the valley of Jarsang Khola. On the way, we will trek through few pastures, a scrub of juniper trees and through villages and meadows where horses and yaks graze. Then after we cross a small river on a wooden bridge, we will see an ancient old Mani wall before reaching Yak Kharka. Overnight stay at Teahouse.
Day 12 : Trek From Yak Kharka To Thorong Phedi (4,560M) Duration: 4-5 Hours.

We will follow the trail climbs along the east bank of the Jarsang Khola, then trek down to the river and crosses the stream on a wooden bridge at 4310m. Sometime we will able to see Blue sheep and even snow leopard. The crow-like bird choughs, large lamer glaciers, and Himalayan griffons circle you overhead. overnight stay in Thoring Phedi at teahouse.
Day 13 : Cross Thorong La Pass (5,416M) Then Trek To Muktinath (3,802M) Duration 7-9 Hours.

Today very early in the morning we start our trek the trail becomes steep immediately after leaving Thorung Phedi, switchbacking up moraines and following rocky ridges as it ascends to the Thorung La pass (5416m). You can see the long Great Barrier ridge, Tibet like region of Manang, as well as the Mt. Annapurnas, Mt. Gangapurna and the heavily glaciated peak of Khatung Kang (6484m). After spending a some time at the pass, The trail descends crossing meadows steeply down to Muktinath, one of the most important pilgrimage sites for both Hindus and Buddhists. we stay overnight at Muktinath.
Day 14 : Trek From Muktinath To Jomsom (2750M) Duration: 5-6 Hours.

Leaving Muktinath, it will be our last trekking day. Jomson is the beginning and end of many treks and also getaway to Upper Mustang. Ending the trek in this place offers the possibility to have a scenic drive and flight above the Himalaya. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 15 : Drive From Jomsom To Pokhara (8,50M) Duration: 6-7 Hours.

The 6-7 hours journey to Pokhara will allow us time to take in the views. On arrival at Pokhara, we will drop you back at your hotel.
Day 16 : Drive Back To Kathmandu (1350M) Duration: 6-7 Hours.
