The Pyramids of Giza are by far the most famous and are the last of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World. Your Egyptologist guide will provide a fascinating introduction to each of the three pyramids: Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus. You will have free time to enter one of the pyramids (additional cost), although your guide is not permitted to enter with you You'll then continue across the plateau for a photo opportunity of the three pyramids rising from the sands, with the Cairo skyline in the background. A short drive to the city side of the plateau finds you standing at the feet of the Sphinx, for thousands of years the enigmatic symbol of Egypt. The Egyptian Museum in Cairo is one of the largest museums in the world. Your Egypt tours will take you on a 4 hours tour to explore the museum's treasures (opened in 1901). Look at the amazing monuments and artifacts in its different halls in a guided tour. Although the museum has tens of thousands of artifacts in this short tour, your Egyptologist guide will focus on the highlights and masterpieces of the museum
Visit the Tut Ankh Amun Wing on the first floor and see his wonderful collection of historically important artwork. The treasures are mainly golden and they cover a quite large section of the museum. This area of the museum includes significant statues, furniture, and gold sculptures. After enjoying the guided part of the tour, take some free time to browse the museum with the option of visiting the royal mummy room.
Visit to the Citadel of Saladin, a 12th century fortress .Inside the citadel; you will go into the Alabaster mosque. Built in 1830, the mosque was designed by a Turkish architect, who followed the same style of the Blue mosque of Sultan Ahmed in Istanbul. Your guide will explain the main elements of the mosque and basic Islamic principles. Enjoy the panoramic view of the city from the top.
Enjoy some free time at Khan El Khalili, the biggest market in Cairo. In Khan el Khalili bazaar, you will enjoy strolling through the maze of streets and bargain for a souvenir of your trip to Egypt. Your first stop in this historic city is the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, which is a Roman burial site that reveals the merging of Egyptian and Roman art and architecture. Descend below ground to visit the tomb and Caracalla Hall. you will find the impressive mixture of Roman and Egyptian art and symbols.
you will visit the famous Alexandria Library. In contrast to the ancient architecture found throughout Egypt, this Norwegian-designed building is a striking piece of modern design. A copy of every book published in the world is kept in the library, making it one of the great literary sites in the world. The library also houses several exhibitions relating to the history of Egypt and a display of rare antique books (for an additional cost).
Enjoy the best view over the city and the sea from the Fort of Qaitbay, a 15th fort built on top of the original location of the Lighthouse that was gone. The fort was meant to protect the Eastern harbor of the city.
